Brown set to shake it up Manager Phil Brown has indicated there will be changes to his Preston side for the clash with Rochdale. Brown watched North End dominate large periods of their FA Cup tie against Southend but had to settle for a goalless draw as Barry Nicholson missed a penalty. Nicholson played for an hour with a suspected broken rib but should be fit for the clash. Loanee Jonathan Forte is available again having been cup-tied and will join Juvhel Tsoumou in attack. Forte`s return is a timely one for Preston as fellow strikers Iain Hume (knee), Neil Mellor (ankle) and Jamie Proctor (hernia) are still on the sidelines. Brown told the club`s official website: "It would be nice to say `same team, same subs` but that won`t be the case." Holland Under-21s striker Roland Bergkamp will go straight into the Rochdale squad after signing on loan from Brighton this week. The 20-year-old has joined Steve Eyre`s side until the new year and is likely to play a part at Deepdale. However, Pim Balkestein misses out having undergone groin surgery. The defender, on loan from Brentford, has featured regularly this season but is likely to be out for around a month. Rochdale have no other new injury worries but are still without a number of long-term absentees. Midfielder Joe Thompson has a thigh problem, Joe Widdowson has shin splints, Simon Hackney is suffering from a stomach injury and Scottish defender Marc Twaddle has a back problem.

Adams sinks Preston Nicky Adams' late winner gave Rochdale their first win in seven games as they overcame Preston 1-0 at Deepdale. Both sides were desperate to put miserable runs of form behind them, and while Rochdale emerged the victors thanks to Adams' 84th minute tap-in, they can consider themselves fortunate to take three points from a game marked with plenty of missed chances. Although Preston have the league's worst defensive record at home and Rochdale the worst away, it was both sides' wastefulness in front of goal that caught the eye The worst of each side's misses came in two second half minutes. First, Dale skipper Gary Jones saw his poor penalty saved by Thorsten Stuckmann on 56 minutes after Conor McLaughlin fouled Harry Bunn. Moments later substitute Neil Mellor wasted Preston's best opportunity, unbelievably hitting the woodwork from all of three yards with the goal gaping. Adams made no mistake from a similar position six minutes from time, poking home on the rebound after Stuckmann had saved well from Andrew Tutte.
