Match Preview
Duo set for North End absence Preston's injured strike duo Iain Hume and Neil Mellor are making good progress in their efforts to return, but the clash with Bournemouth could come too soon. Hume and Mellor, suffering from knee and ankle problems respectively, have been absent for the Lilywhites, who have not won in their last five matches, in recent weeks. There is an outside chance the duo could feature against the Cherries, although next week's trip to Charlton could prove a more realistic return game. Barry Nicholson is pushing for a starting berth after coming off the bench for the final 10 minutes of Tuesday's 3-3 draw with Oldham. Darel Russell impressed in making his first start of the season against the Latics and should keep his place in the XI. Striker Jamie Proctor will miss out after it was this week announced he will undergo a hernia operation on November 1. New signing Steve Cook is likely to be handed his Bournemouth debut. The centre-back joined the Cherries on an emergency loan deal from Brighton on Thursday and is set to replace the suspended Stephane Zubar at the heart of defence. Zubar picked up a one-match ban after being shown his fifth yellow card of the season during the 1-1 draw at Colchester on Tuesday. Meanwhile, striker Charlie Sheringham will sit out the trip to Deepdale because of suspension. The son of former England star Teddy arrived at Dean Court last week from Dartford and made his debut in Essex. However, Sheringham collected five yellow cards for his previous club earlier in the campaign, and will serve a one-game ban this weekend. Manager Lee Bradbury will be without Joe Partington, who was withdrawn at half-time at Colchester due to an impact injury on his ankle. The midfielder underwent a scan following the knock and, although no breaks were revealed, he will not be risked on Saturday. Midfielder Harry Arter faces a late fitness test on a calf problem and Shaun McDonald (toe ligament damage) continues to be sidelined, but Mark Molesley will be recalled to the matchday squad.

Match Report
Pugh sinks Preston Marc Pugh put the finishing touches to a 3-1 win for Bournemouth Preston's leaky defence cost them again. Juvhel Tsoumou had put Preston ahead but three second-half goals in 20 minutes from Wesley Thomas, Scott Malone and Pugh gave Lee Bradbury's men all three points. Preston took the lead after 29 minutes when in-form forward Tsoumou turned sharply in the six-yard box to finish smartly after Bournemouth failed to clear. The Cherries equalised after 48 minutes when Thomas latched onto Pugh's pass and slotted home his sixth of the season after rounding Iain Turner. Bournemouth then took the lead before the hour when Malone, on loan from Wolves, notched his first for the club with a cool finish at the second attempt from 10 yards. Pugh scored Bournemouth's third after an awful mix-up between Clarke Carlisle and Turner left him with an empty net to pass into. Darryl Flahavan made two fine stops to keep Preston out late on but the Cherries never looked in danger.
