Almost a third as Aruna Dindane bursts into the area but his pass to Nwankwo Kanu is over-hit and a corner is conceded by Burnley. Pompey play it short but end up knocking the ball out for a throw-in to Burnley.

Steven Thompson has a snap-shot from just outside the Pompey area but it drifts wide of the goal to sum up the Clarets' miserable afternoon.

Good play by Burnley here but again the final ball into the area lets them down as Wade Elliott's cross is hacked away by Steve Finnan and then Hassan Yebda.

Jamie O'Hara whips a free kick in from the left of the area which is cleared. However a cross back in is headed wide of the goal by Hermann Hreidarsson.

Andre Bikey sends Wade Elliott away towards the Pompey goal and, despite plenty of attacking support, he goes for goal and drives a poor effort wide of the far post.

Tyrone Mears does well to win the ball back in the middle of the park but his resulting high cross into the area goes for a goal kick after he slipped.

Burnley win a corner which comes in to Andre Bikey who heads just over the bar. He also claims Hermann Hreidarsson had a tug of his shirt in the middle.

Unbelievable as Aruna Dindane takes over spot-kick duties from Kevin-Prince Boateng and has his poor penalty is saved before his follow up header is straight at Brian Jensen.

A great move by Burnley as the ball finds its way to Wade Elliott to the right of goal but his effort had no power and Tal Ben Haim cleared.

Portsmouth are enjoying some pressure but Burnley break with the ball crossed into the area for Steven Fletcher who does everything right to get in front of Marc Wilson only to scuff his shot from three yards.

Good pressure from Burnley again here as Chris Eagles has made some forays into the Pompey half but the home side are looking fairly solid.
