Match Preview

Lloyd may get his big chance Teenager Ryan Lloyd could be in line to make his full debut for Port Vale against York with Ashley Vincent suspended. The winger, 18, is one of several options to replace Vincent, who must serve a one-match ban after collecting his fifth yellow card of the campaign during the goalless draw at Southend last weekend. Lloyd has featured four times from the bench this season, having made his debut as a substitute in a 7-2 home win against Morecambe in April 2011. "Lloydy has come on a few times season and never looked out of place," said Vale assistant boss Mark Grew. "His workrate is brilliant and he has proved he's good enough." Another option rests on the fitness of Doug Loft. The skipper could slot in at left-back if he overcomes a calf problem, allowing Rob Taylor to move into Vincent's midfield role. However, Loft missed training on Monday and is rated at 50-50. Elsewhere, centre-half John McCombe is available again after a three-match suspension and fellow defender Richard Duffy should be fit following an ankle injury. York will be without suspended midfielder Scott Kerr for the clash, but on-loan striker Alex Rodman will return to contention. Kerr was sent off in Monday night's FA Cup replay defeat to AFC Wimbledon for two yellow card offences, so Danny Parslow is likely to step up to midfield, while Aldershot forward Rodman was not eligible. Striker Oli Johnson is not expected to be included as he is suffering from a stomach strain, but manager Gary Mills has no other new injury or suspension problems. Mills said: "Oli dropped out of training this week just feeling his stomach, but other than him I think we're exactly the same as we were the other night. "Obviously Alex Rodman is available again on Saturday, so that's a bonus, but other than that we'll be exactly the same." Midfielder John McReady has not recovered full match fitness following his dislocated shoulder and striker Michael Coulson is out for the rest of the season due to knee ligament damage.
