Match Preview
Duo missing for Vale Port Vale will be without Kayleden Brown and Romaine Sawyers as they host Stevenage. The on-loan duo, who have played bit-part roles over the past month, have returned to parent club West Brom upon the completion of their deals. Midfielder James O`Shea is in contention to play his final match before returning to Birmingham, while striker Tom Pope is currently due to complete his loan stay after Saturday`s clash against Aldershot. However, Valiants boss Jim Gannon has revealed his desire to negotiate an extension with Rotherham to keep lifelong Vale fan Pope, who scored a brace to help beat Bradford 2-1 on Friday. Midfielder Gareth Roberts misses out as he starts the three-match ban received for his sending off for the club`s reserves earlier this month. Centre-back Gareth Owen (ankle) remains out. Striker Marc Richards continued his rehabilitation from his thigh injury with a further five minutes against Bradford and will again be pushing for more minutes. Stevenage boss Graham Westley again looks set to be without Michael Bostwick when his side make the trip. Westley`s men won 1-0 at Crewe on Saturday and the only change to their starting line-up saw Luke Foster take Bostwick`s place in defence. Bostwick missed out due to a virus and is still suffering, so Westley is likely to name the same starting line-up. Midfielder Darren Murphy is a definite absentee as he works his way back from an ongoing shoulder problem. Scott Laird snatched all three points for Stevenage with a late winner at Gresty Road and Westley was full of praise for his men. He said: "It was a classic away performance and a very important three points."

Match Report
Boro leave Valiants deflated Stevenage saw off Port Vale 3-1 to record their second away win in four days and climb into the top half of the table, denting the hosts` promotion drive in the process. Vale were on top for most of an uneventful first half-an-hour before two defensive errors handed the visitors a two-goal lead. The 31st-minute opener was a bizarre own goal as 30-yard back-pass from Anthony Griffith took a bobble before rolling over Chris Martin's foot and into the net. And it was 2-0 nine minutes later after Lee Collins failed to shepherd the ball out of play, allowing Lawrie Wilson to cross for Peter Winn to ram in a low shot at the far post. Vale boss Jim Gannon made a double substitution at half-time, bringing on striker Marc Richards and winger Rob Taylor. And increasing pressure led to a 57th-minute reply when teenager Sam Morsy scored his first senior goal with a 20-yard shot which was deflected past Chris Day. A comeback looked on the cards, but Vale's hopes evaporated in the 66th minute when David Bridges rolled in the rebound after Ronnie Henry's shot was blocked by Martin.
