Match Preview
Rigg set for Vale comeback Port Vale hope to have Sean Rigg available for the visit of derby rivals Shrewsbury. Striker Rigg has missed the last three matches with a hamstring injury but has an outside chance of coming back into the reckoning. Midfielder Doug Loft returned from a knee problem as a second-half substitute during the 3-2 home victory over Bradford on Tuesday night and is pushing for a place in manager Micky Adams` starting line-up. Striker Marc Richards will serve the second game of a three-match suspension following his red card for violent conduct during the 2-0 victory at Plymouth last weekend. Midfielder Robert Taylor is poised to make his 100th start for Vale on Saturday against his hometown club. Joe Jacobson is expected to be fit for Shrewsbury. The full-back received a late kick to his leg in Tuesday's 1-0 defeat at Bristol Rovers - a loss which ended a four-match winning run in the league - and was forced to go off. But Jacobson should be okay for the Vale Park encounter as third place meets fourth in npower League Two, with the two sides separated only by goal difference. Striker Terry Gornell serves the second game of his three-match suspension, meaning manager Graham Turner must again choose between James Collins and Tom Bradshaw to partner Marvin Morgan in attack. Collins got the nod at the Memorial Stadium with Bradshaw introduced in his place midway through the second half, and the former is most likely to start this time around.

Match Report
Shrews claim win in five-goal thriller Shrewsbury were good value for their fifth win in six league games as they held on for a 3-2 success in a thriller against fellow high flyers Port Vale. Marvin Morgan curled in the opener with a brilliant individual effort from 15 yards after leaving Vale defenders Gareth Owen and Mike Green for dead in the third minute. And winger Mark Wright doubled their advantage inside the opening 15 minutes by placing a cool finish beyond Chris Martin after racing clear from Joe Jacobson's precise pass. Vale raced back into contention before the break when Ben Williamson lobbed his first goal for the club over advancing goalkeeper Ben Smith after latching onto a pass from Adam Yates. But Vale centre-back John McCombe was forced off in the 49th minute and Shrewsbury extended their lead a minute later when Lionel Ainsworth hammered home a low cross from Wright. Vale pulled a goal back nine minutes from time when Williamson headed his second from six yards after good work by Tom Pope, but the visitors held firm in the tense closing stages.
