Double boost for Vale
Port Vale duo Stuart Tomlinson and Lewis Haldane are expected to be fit for the visit of struggling Macclesfield.
Goalkeeper Tomlinson was recalled for last weekend`s 2-1 victory at Aldershot but was forced off due to a recurring hip injury in the 69th minute, moments after causing and then saving a penalty.
Forward Haldane was a doubt going into the clash due to an ankle problem but passed a fitness test only to take a knock to the area, forcing him off at half-time.
However both should be in contention as Vale look to claim back-to-back wins for the first time since November.
Midfielder Gary Roberts, who contrary to reports has not been granted permission to leave on loan, serves the third and final match of his suspension, while centre-back Gareth Owen (ankle) is not yet thought to be ready to return.
Fit-again skipper Marc Richards started his first match since early January against the Shots and will do so again, likely partnered by Tom Pope after he extended his loan stay from Rotherham.
Macclesfield manager Gary Simpson is without suspended duo Ricky Sappleton and Emile Sinclair.
Sinclair and Sappleton were sent off along with Wycombe's Dave Winfield during last weekend's League Two encounter at Moss Rose, which the Silkmen lost 1-0.
Macclesfield have been charged with a breach of FA rule E20(a) - a failure to ensure that players and/or officials conducted themselves in an orderly fashion &/or refrained from provocative and/or violent behaviour.
However, Carl Tremarco and Shaun Brisley are both available after long-term injuries and should come into contention to boost Simpson's squad.
Lewis Chalmers remains sidelined with a groin strain picked up in a Cheshire Premier Cup match in midweek and Vinny Mukendi is still missing with a knee injury.
Vale keep up the pressure
Promotion hunting Port Vale kept up the pressure on the top three with a 2-1 victory over Macclesfield.
Macclesfield fielded a defensive formation in an attempt to frustrate Vale, but the plan was undone when they conceded the opening goal in the 28th minute.
Vale left-back Kris Taylor delivered an in-swinging corner from the right and Sam Collins headed his second goal of the season at the far post.
Kris Taylor then struck a post with a 20-yard free-kick and Sam Morsy had a shot cleared off the line as Vale threatened to overrun their ragged visitors.
Nat Brown headed wide from a good position as Macclesfield attempted to hit back, but they were on the retreat again at the start of the second period.
Adam Yates clattered a close-range shot against the underside of the crossbar and Marc Richards' follow up effort was blocked on the line.
Vale had to wait until three minutes from time to net what proved the winner when substitute Louis Dodds curled in a 20-yard shot from man of the match Morsy's pass.
Tyrone Barnett hooked in a close-range shot from Izak Reid's cross to net Macclesfield's consolation goal in the second minute of stoppage time.
