Patterson missing for Pilgrims Plymouth manager Peter Reid will be without Rory Patterson for the clash with MK Dons. Patterson lashed in Argyle's match-winner against Dagenham on Good Friday, but he was later sent off after picking up a second yellow card. That means the striker is suspended and leaves boss Reid with a vacancy in attack. He could retain defender Kari Arnason in the unfamiliar role, however he will be hopeful Rory Fallon can shake off a groin problem. The New Zealander was pencilled in to start against the Daggers but was forced to withdraw prior to kick-off. Simon Walton is also a doubt after he was forced off during the second period of Friday's win and Reid will give the midfielder as long as possible to recover before making a decision. MK Dons will be without Rowan Vine for the trip. Striker Vine's 93-day emergency loan from QPR expired after Friday's 3-1 home defeat to Huddersfield and he has gone back to Loftus Road after scoring once in 17 appearances for the Dons. Defender Danny Woodards remains absent with a hamstring strain so Mathias Doumbe, who scored the consolation goal against the Terriers, will continue at right-back. Manager Karl Robinson lamented his team's inability to take chances on Friday so it remains to be seen if he makes changes up front. However, top scorer Sam Baldock should retain his place after being recalled to the starting line-up versus Town. On-loan QPR forward Angelo Balanta made his first start against Huddersfield since his recovery from an ankle problem that had kept him out for five months and it remains to be seen if he is fit enough to play two games in four days.

Walton strike keeps Argyle hopes alive Play-off chasing MK Dons suffered their first back-to-back defeats since December as relegation-haunted Plymouth recorded successive 1-0 wins to throw themselves an unlikely League One lifeline. Argyle ace Simon Walton fired the home side ahead from a 21st-minute free-kick from the left following a foul by Dons central defender Sean O'Hanlon on lively home winger Yannick Bolasie. Walton - a revelation since returning from injury - swung in his free-kick from 25 yards and the flight deceived Dons goalkeeper David Martin, as well as eluding recalled Plymouth striker Rory Fallon. Dons must have wondered how they did not equalise six minutes later. Daniel Powell's thumping strike sent home keeper David Button the wrong way but the on-loan Tottenham man managed to keep the ball out with his trailing leg. The ball then fell kindly to Angelo Balanta, whose follow-up strike was cleared off the line by Argyle right-back Karl Duguid. Martin made a superb save to keep out Kari Arnason's 74th-minute angled drive and then denied Bolasie as he broke through on goal with just the keeper to beat. In the fourth and final minute of stoppage time, Bolasie broke free and smashed a shot off the Dons crossbar.
