Match Preview
Bhasera a worry for Plymouth Plymouth boss Carl Fletcher will monitor midfielder Onismor Bhasera before Southend visit Home Park. The Zimbabwe international was not risked in the 3-2 win over Morecambe last Saturday due to a knock and he faces a race against time to prove his fitness this time out. Midfielder Ross Jenkins shone in Bhasera's absence with a wonder goal on debut following his loan arrival from Watford. That goal capped an impressive performance and he is set to retain his place, even if Bhasera returns. Warren Feeney was recalled to the starting line-up against the Shrimps and repaid his manager's faith in that decision with two goals from the penalty spot; a double salvo which should see him retain his spot in attack. Paul Wotton is still missing after the midfielder picked up a groin injury in the 3-1 defeat to Port Vale. Paul Sturrock will wait until as late as possible before deciding on his side. Goalkeeper Paul Smith (concussion), centre-back Mark Phillips and forward Gavin Tomlin (both groin) are all rated as 50/50 having missed last Saturday's 2-1 victory over Exeter. Sturrock also has decisions to make over the roles of fit-again strikers Barry Corr and Freddy Eastwood, with both long-term absentees stepping off the bench against the Grecians to find the net and help clinch all three points. "Freddy and Barry have trained regularly this week," Sturrock told the club's official website. "I don't want to rush Corr back but I have a decision to make on Freddy." Sturrock returns to Home Park having enjoyed two managerial stints with Plymouth but that will not stop him from trying to register a sixth win from seven games for Southend.
