New boss Fletcher to sit it out Plymouth's new caretaker manager Carl Fletcher will not be selecting himself for his first game in charge against Macclesfield due to suspension. He serves the first match of a three-game ban after his straight red card in the defeat at Southend last weekend and, subsequently, will miss out against the Silkmen. Fletcher, who was appointed as the interim successor to Peter Reid following the former Sunderland boss' sacking on Sunday, has no injury worries. However, the club have been hit with a misconduct rap by the Football Association. The Devon outfit have been charged with failing to control their players during the 2-0 at Roots Hall last week, when both sides had players involved in a second-half brawl. Macclesfield will be hoping defensive duo Carl Tremarco and Elliott Hewitt can shake off niggles in time for the clash. Tremarco suffered a slight hamstring strain in the Silkmen's 3-1 victory over Northampton last week, while Hewitt, who was due to link up with Wales Under-19s, picked up a minor groin problem. Neither injury is thought to be serious, although they will join a growing casualty list should they fail to recover in time. Defender Paul Morgan (broken arm) and reserve goalkeeper Jack Cudworth (ankle) are long-term absentees, while the encounter is expected to come a week too early for Tom Fisher as he recuperates from a knee ligament injury. Striker Waide Fairhurst made a cameo appearance against the Cobblers following an ankle injury lay-off and may come off the bench again this weekend in an effort to improve his match fitness.
