McInally to make Blue Toon bow Jim McInally will take control of Peterhead for the first time when Stranraer visit Balmoor. But the new Blue Toon boss will have to pick his first starting XI from a depleted squad. Roy McBain, Jamie Redman, Graham Sharp and David Ross have all been ruled out through knocks, however McInally is trying to stay optimistic. The former Morton and East Stirling manager said: "It is disappointing to be without these players, but what I saw in a bounce game in midweek has given me great confidence that Peterhead can go on and have a good season. "I know Stranraer well from my time at East Stirling and Keith Knox will have them very well organised, and first and foremost I will be asking our players to match their workrate." Stranraer will be without injured defender David McGregor. Despite the setback, Stair Park boss Keith Knox is determined that his side keep their unbeaten run going. He said: "We had a disappointing start to the season when we lost the first two league games but we changed things around and won five in a row before drawing with Clyde. "I am in no mood for that good run to end up at Balmoor, although we do not have a great record up there. "It is always tricking facing a team under a new manager, especially one that has really good attacking players. "But we have ambitions of our own this season and to reach them we have to take something from games like this."

McInally bow ends in misery Jim McInally's first game in charge of Peterhead ended in defeat as second-placed Stranraer won 3-1 in the Scottish Third Division. The visitors went ahead after 12 minutes when a ball into the box found the head of Frank McKeown at the near post and he coolly nodded in. Midfielder Stephen Stirling then doubled the advantage in the 39th minute, drilling a left-footed shot from long range into the bottom corner. Peterhead pulled one back when midfielder Bryan Deasley's cross met Rory McAllister's head and he headed home in the 68th minute. But Stranraer were assured of victory when, in the final minute, Michael Moore scored with a header from close range.
