Blue Toon striker banned Peterhead striker Rory McAllister is banned for the Blue Toon's home clash with bottom side East Stirling. Meanwhile, fellow forward David Ross is a doubt after picking up a knock in the Scottish Cup game with Celtic last weekend. Otherwise, manager Jim McInally has a fully-fit squad at his disposal, and the Peterhead boss has told his men that this game is crucial to their season. "A win lifts us further away from the foot of the table and, with the sides above us playing each other, we are bound to get closer to some of them if we win," he said. "You can gradually see confidence coming back to the players and another win will increase the feel-good factor. We can still go on and have a very enjoyable second half to the season." East Stirling will be without the suspended Ryan Frances, with the Shire hoping to fare better in the north east than they did against Elgin last Saturday when they went down 3-1. Manager John Coughlin's side are also without the services of striker Bradley Coyne after his loan deal from St Mirren expired, while the experienced Joe Savage is unavailable. However Fraser Team returns after injury to give Coughlin another option. "It was a long trip home last week after getting beat and I do not want us to be making it again without having picked something up," said the East Stirling boss. "We will miss the threat that Bradley gave us but it is a chance for someone else to come in and grab a goal."

Wyness sinks rivals Peterhead extended their advantage over East Stirling at the bottom of the Scottish Third Division with a 1-0 victory. Dennis Wyness grabbed the winner 10 minutes before the break when he latched on to Scott Ross' header before firing home from six yards. The hosts were largely in control from the outset and should have led after just 14 minutes but Roy McBain scuffed his shot wide from close range. They continued to press and eventually got their rewards when Wyness notched his first goal of the season. The win means the Blue Toon move seven points clear of their opponents, who remain firmly rooted to the bottom of the table having played two extra matches.
