No new worries for Posh Peterborough boss Gary Johnson has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the Carling Cup visit of Cardiff. Johnson saw his side come from 2-0 down to beat promotion hopefuls Huddersfield 4-2 on Saturday and is likely to name an unchanged squad against the Bluebirds. Full-back Seth Nana Ofori-Twumasi was replaced at half-time for the second game in succession at London Road and replacement Tommy Rowe may be given the chance to take his place from the start. Forward Lee Tomlin is still waiting for his first start since joining from non league side Rushden & Diamonds and fellow summer signing Dave Hibbert will also hope to feature from the off. Defender Gabriel Zakuani (groin), midfielder Lee Frecklington (knee) and winger Chris Whelpdale (thigh) remain on the sidelines. Cardiff striker Michael Chopra will miss out due to an ankle injury. The former Newcastle and Sunderland forward is awaiting the results of a scan after lasting just 30 minutes of the 4-0 win over Doncaster on Saturday. He may be joined on the sidelines by defensive pair Kevin McNaughton and Darcy Blake, with the former limping off against Rovers in the 18th minute with a hamstring strain. Blake, meanwhile, injured his ankle during the warm-up and both players are unlikely to feature at London Road. Midfielder Jason Koumas will be pushing for a starting berth and though midfield duo Stephen McPhail and Aaron Wildig have returned to training following their respective knee injuries, neither player is expected to play.

Posh Boyd by late win Striker George Boyd scored a stunning late winner as Peterborough pulled off a Carling Cup shock to beat Cardiff 2-1 in the second round. Boyd unleashed an unstoppable 20-yard strike with his right foot just two minutes from the end of a pulsating clash to ensure Gary Johnson's npower League One side claimed a Championship scalp. Bluebirds boss Dave Jones left loan star Craig Bellamy out of the squad for the London Road clash, but the visitors hardly missed him during a dominant first half display. A succession of chances went begging before Jay Bothroyd was left with a simple header with which to break the deadlock in the 31st minute after being picked out by a fine left wing delivery from Jason Koumas. But Cardiff were made to pay for their failings in front of goal when Posh upped the ante in the second period. Goalkeeper Tom Heaton pulled off fine saves to deny Craig Mackail-Smith and Boyd in the space of 60 seconds, but he was powerless to prevent Mackail-Smith hauling the hosts level with a rasping drive from the edge of the box in the 74th minute. Bothroyd had penalty appeals ignored at the other end after going down under a challenge just before Boyd secured Posh's passage with his late stunner.
