Match Preview

Thistle short of bodies Partick are still short of numbers as they prepare to host Raith. Interim boss Jackie McNamara is without Paul Paton, Colin Stevenson, Ryan MacBeth, John Robertson and Bryan Hodge, who are all in the treatment room. Defender Willie Kinniburgh serves the ban he received for being sent off against Dundee last weekend. McNamara's assistant Simon Donnelly could feature after playing in a reserve game during the week and midfielder David Rowson is back after suspension, although a family bereavement may see him miss the game. McNamara said: "We have the chance to end the season on a high and we are determined to take it. Raith will be out to prove a point after losing last weekend so we need to be prepared for that." Runners-up Raith travel to Partick with manager John McGlynn unable to call upon the services of three players. Defender Dougie Hill and striker Gary Wales are out injured while midfielder Allan Walker is suspended. But winger Scott McBride and forward Graham Weir are expected to shake off knocks to be included. McGlynn said: "We have lost our last two games and we do not want to make that three. "We want to end the season on a high but we will need to play well to do so as I am sure Thistle want the same thing."

Match Report

Thistle coast past Rovers Thomas Stewart, Kris Doolan and David Rowson all struck after the the break as Partick cruised to an impressive 3-0 win over second-placed Raith. Stewart's angled drive from inside the penalty area was brilliantly saved at full stretch by Raith goalkeeper David McGurn just before the break. But McGurn was powerless to prevent Stewart firing his second goal in successive matches soon after, the Partick midfielder unleashing an unstoppable 30-yard shot that arrowed into the bottom corner. McGurn denied Stewart again in the 66th minute and parried Conrad Balatoni's goalbound effort four minutes later. But Partick wrapped the points up in the 78th minute when Raith defender Mark Campbell was adjudged to have fouled David Rowson in the area and Doolan stepped forward to place his spot kick into the top corner. Rowson struck a third for the home side with a fine 20-yard effort in stoppage time.
