Match Preview
Rossi wary of Moscow threat Palermo coach Delio Rossi has warned his players of the big threat CSKA Moscow pose when the two teams meet in Europa League showdown at the Stadio Renzo Barbera. Leonid Slutski's men have won both of their Group F matches to emerge as the early leaders, however Palermo can join them on six points by making the best of home advantage. Rossi knows CSKA are proving prolific scorers in Europe, with a 3-0 win at Lausanne followed by a 3-0 triumph over Sparta Prague. "I believe this is not only the most challenging game of the group, but also of other groups," said Rossi. "CSKA are one of the strongest teams in this competition. "They go into this game on the back of six straight wins and I don't feel shame in saying that CSKA are stronger than us. "We have less European experience than them but I hope this will change in the future." Palermo head into Thursday's encounter riding a four-match winning streak. Sunday's 4-1 triumph over Bologna, their first league win at home this season, lifted the Sicilians to sixth in Serie A. Rossi's men have won both of their home games in Europe this season without conceding a goal and know the importance of clash. "This game is crucial to qualify to the next stage of the competition," said Rossi. "We will play in front of our fans and we hope to take three points." The Italians will have to keep a close eye on CSKA's strike-force of Seydou Doumbia and Vagner Love. "They are very good players and very dangerous," said Rossi. "They can strike at any time and we will have to limit our mistakes." Palermo will have to be focused from start to finish, with five of CSKA's six group goals coming after the hour mark. The hosts will be without injured trio Fabrizio Miccoli, Fabio Liverani and Nicola Rigoni. Moreover, Slovenian midfield pair Armin Bacinovic and Josip Ilicic are not eligible to play in UEFA competition this season.

Match Report
CSKA blitz Palermo to maintain 100% record Two goals from Seydou Doumbia and one from Tomas Necid kept up CSKA Moscow's 100% record in Group F of the Europa League with a 3-0 win against 10-man Palermo at the Stadio Renzo Barbera. Doumbia, a 22-year-old Ivory Coast striker, headed home in a first half which also saw CSKA have a penalty kick saved by Palermo goalkeeper Francesco Benussi. Then Doumbia slotted a second halfway through the second half to kill off the challenge of a lively Palermo side who had Argentinian midfielder Javier Pastore sent off for dissent. It was a match in which CSKA demonstrated their superior power, dominating possession while Palermo looked to catch them on the break. Palermo should have taken the lead after 11 minutes when Massimo Maccarone was played in 10 yards from goal. Unfortunately, the former Middlesbrough striker rushed his left foot shot, spooning the ball over the crossbar. If that was a waste then CSKA were even more profligate when Mark Gonzalez was brought down in the penalty area by Benussi. Vagner Love, the Brazilian striker with distinctive blue hair, stepped up only to see his spot-kick pushed aside by the Palermo goalkeeper. If anything that miss spurred on CSKA. They began to dominate proceedings and the inevitable opener arrived after 34 minutes. It owed a lot to shoddy Palermo marking, which allowed Doumbia to glide in between Matteo Darmian and Mattia Cassani to head home. Palermo came out with renewed vigour after the break but they were rocked again by some sloppy defending. This time substitute Kamil Glik and Dorin Goian were to blame, failing to track Doumba who provided the coolest of finishes before being substituted with Tomas Necid. While Palermo never gave up, their fate was sealed after 75 minutes by a moment of madness from Pastore, who received a yellow card from referee Robert Schorgenhofer for dissent and then immediately received another and the inevitable red card for sarcastically applauding the official. Necid wrapped it up, cashing in on a splendid flick from Alan Dzagoev to slide home a third goal as CSKA hit Palermo on the break.
