Match Preview
U's add Burge to squad Oxford boss Chris Wilder could add new signing Ryan Burge to his squad for the home game against Crewe. The 22-year-old has signed on loan from Doncaster, where he has made just one appearance this season, until the end of the season and looks set to be among the substitutes to face the Railwaymen. The Us boss has no fresh injury or suspension problems but is likely to make changes following the disappointing 2-1 defeat against Stevenage in midweek. Wingers Simon Hackney and Alfie Potter will be hoping for recalls after being dropped to the bench against Boro, while top scorer James Constable is pushing for a starting role. Damien Batt and Djoumin Sangare will also be hoping to earn places in the starting line-up to help plug a defence that not has kept a clean sheet in five games. Manager Dario Gradi could be forced into changing his starting line-up for the first time in five matches. Ashley Westwood is nursing a calf injury after being forced off at half-time during the 1-0 home win over Southend in midweek. "Westy had a kick on his calf, he looked as though he was going to be alright but he wasn`t," said Gradi. `He only played half the game and if it clears up he should be full of running on Saturday." Danny Shelley came on as a substitute on Tuesday night and he is likely to come back into the starting XI should Westwood not make it. Full-back Matt Tootle is fit again after a virus and he could also come into contention for a recall.

Match Report
Constable sentences Crewe to defeat James Constable's double kept Oxford's faint play-off hopes alive as they beat Crewe 2-1. Oxford's centre forward struck with a goal in each half to take his season's tally to 15 as Crewe lost their eighth away game in a row. His low 20-yard shot wrong-footed goalkeeper Rhys Taylor to give the U's the lead in the 30th minute and midway through the second half he took a pass from debutant Ryan Burge, muscled his way past a defender, and fired past the keeper again. United did not have it all their own way though. Goalkeeper Ryan Clarke turned Shaun Miller's shot away for a corner, and he also made a great one-handed save from Luke Murphy's close-range effort. And in the closing minutes, Alex's top scorer Clayton Donaldson took the ball around goalkeeper Clarke, but then shot into the side-netting. Substitute Ajay Leitch-Smith pulled back a consolation goal for Alex deep into stoppage time from the edge of the area, but it came too late.
