Us sweating over defensive duo
Oxford are keeping a close eye on the fitness of defenders Michael Duberry and Anthony Tonkin ahead of their npower League Two clash with Cheltenham.
Veteran centre-back Duberry is still struggling with a groin strain, while Tonkin missed a reserve-team match in midweek because of a virus and is a doubt for manager Chris Wilder.
The Us boss has drafted in extra cover up front, however, with MK Dons frontman Lewis Guy returning for his second loan spell at the Kassam Stadium this season. Guy will go straight into the squad to take on the Robins.
Striker Danny Philliskirk has returned to Sheffield United at the end of his loan deal, another forward - Tom Craddock - serves the final game of a three-match suspension and Alfie Potter is still between two and three weeks away from a return with a groin strain.
Tony Capaldi (back) and Ryan James remain long-term casualties for Oxford, who are looking to end a run of four consecutive defeats.
New loan signing Bobby Reid could make his Cheltenham debut.
Reid arrived at Whaddon Road on a one-month deal from Bristol City on Thursday, and is eligible to feature for Robins manager Mark Yates.
Yates has no injury worries ahead of the trip, as his team go in search of their ninth win in 11 outings in all competitions.
However, the Cheltenham boss admitted he is wary of the Us' potential threat to his team.
He told the club's official website: "Oxford are quality and I'm really looking forward to going there.
"They have big vocal support and I'm really hopeful that we will be taking a big contingent down to get behind the lads."
Robins continue to sing
In-form Cheltenham chalked up a fifth straight away league win with a comfortable 3-1 victory over Oxford at the Kassam Stadium.
The home side had left-back Liam Davis sent off after 55 minutes for a second yellow card, his first coming just a few minutes earlier.
But Chris Wilder`s side, who fell to their fifth successive defeat in all competitions, were already looking beaten at that stage.
Mark Yates' Robins dominated the first half and really deserved more than the one-goal interval lead given them by Sido Jombati's first goal for the club.
The Portuguese right-back's first attempt to cross was blocked, so he tried a left-footed lob over goalkeeper Ryan Clarke from 25 yards and measured it to perfection.
Kaid Mohamed almost doubled the lead a minute later when he cut in from the left but Clarke saved well at his near post.
Davis was shown his second yellow and a subsequent red for a foul on Jombati, and just a minute later Cheltenham made it 2-0 as James Spencer fired through a crowd of players from a corner.
Oxford rallied late on and Rob Hall went close before Peter Leven pulled one back with a curling 25-yard free-kick.
But the Robins wrapped up the points with Mohamed converting a free-kick of his own, with a deflection off the wall leaving Clarke helpless.
"Will David Moyes be able to turn it around at Ma..."
