Match Preview

Sangare available for Us Oxford will have new signing Djoumin Sangare available as they prepare to host Bradford. The Moroccan defender has signed at the Kassam Stadium until the end of the season and will replace Ben Futcher who has returned to Bury. Goalkeeper Ryan Clarke will continue between the sticks having signed a new three-and-a-half year contract with the club. Manager Chris Wilder said: "Ryan is without doubt one of the best keepers in this division." Defender Leigh Franks remains a doubt with a hamstring injury but could make the bench if deemed fit. Striker Tom Craddock scored his seventh goal of the season in a 2-1 victory at Aldershot and will be a key player if the Us are to get the win they need to enter the play-off places. Bradford defender Shane Duff is doubtful for the clash due to a back problem. Duff, recently back from an Achilles injury, was forced off in last weekend's home defeat to Barnet after sustaining a knock to the lower back. The Bantams are already without fellow centre-half Steve Williams, who is still struggling with a hamstring injury, so Rob Kiernan, on loan from Watford, could return to the starting line-up alongside Luke Oliver. Midfielder Tom Adeyemi, on loan from Norwich, did not appear for the second half against Barnet due to an on-going ankle problem, but is expected to be fit. Striker Jake Speight, back from his loan spell at Port Vale, scored for the reserves in midweek and will be in contention but Mark Cullen, the new loan signing from Hull, is hoping to start up front after stepping off the bench last week.

Match Report

Oxford take revenge Oxford avenged their 5-0 drubbing at Valley Parade in October with two late goals to beat Bradford 2-1. Bradford led from David Syers' ninth minute goal at a corner but Steve Maclean forced the ball in from close range for a 77th-minute equaliser after James Constable's shot was saved by the legs of goalkeeper Lenny Pidgeley. And Tom Craddock then nodded in a winner at the far post with seven minutes left after Constable's driven cross from the right had just eluded Maclean. Peter Taylor's side had to soak up some intense pressure in the second half and they were indebted to Pidgeley, who saved well from Jack Midson, Craddock and Constable. Syers struck from close range when Robbie Threlfall's corner was headed down by Richard Eckersley, for his seventh goal of the season. At times City's goal led a charmed life, with goalbound shots twice deflecting wide, but they also defended well, Rob Kiernan making a terrific block from Craddock's blast on one occasion. But Oxford were rewarded for their sustained pressure as they chalked up their sixth win from the last seven games. For City, it was a second successive defeat after their shock 3-1 setback at home to Barnet last week.
