Match Preview
Oldham duo set to return Oldham pair Dean Furman and Paul Black could be in the squad for Monday night's home clash with MK Dons. Skipper and midfielder Furman has made only two appearances this season due to a knee problem, while defender Black has been sidelined for a month with a groin injury. Both players returned to full training this week and have suffered no ill-effects, so could be named among the substitutes. Winger Filipe Morais is expected to retain his place in the side after making his first start since early September in the midweek Johnstone's Paint Trophy win at Scunthorpe. Manager Paul Dickov is hoping defender Jean-Yves M'voto can shake off the ankle injury that has kept him out of the last two matches. The Latics are looking to build on their midweek win having lost their last two league matches. MK Dons midfielder Stephen Gleeson is back in contention following suspension. Gleeson missed last week's home win over Notts County due to a one-game ban after reaching five yellow cards and manager Karl Robinson must decide whether to recall him to the starting line-up. Defender Adam Smith, on loan from Tottenham, is on international duty with England's Under-21s and goalkeeper Ian McLoughlin is in the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad. Strikers Jabo Ibehre (hamstring) and Charlie MacDonald (thigh) remain sidelined and midfielder Jay O'Shea (ankle) is not ready to return to action. The Dons know a win would send them back into second spot.

Match Report
Oldham hold on for MK Dons defeat A freak goal by Shefki Kuqi set Oldham on course for a deserved 2-1 win against high-flying MK Dons at Boundary Park. Visiting keeper David Martin was left red-faced as he slipped on the rain-sodden pitch and saw the ball bounce past him, gifting Kuqi the easiest of break-throughs. MK Dons went close on six minutes when Luke Chadwick was denied by keeper Alex Cisak but Oldham took control with a string of chances. Tom Adeyemi and Filipe Morais fired off target and left-back David Mellor was unlucky not to score at the end of a storming run. Oldham struck on 43 minutes as Martin came out to gather Zander Diamond's long ball but lost his footing to give Kuqi a tap-in from two yards. Kuqi should have scored again before half time but it was Adeyemi who doubled the lead on 56 minutes as he took Robbie Simpson's pass and slotted into the far corner from 10 yards. Chris Taylor was denied by a goal-line clearance and Morais drilled inches wide as Oldham continued to impress. Dons responded five minutes from time when Clinton Morrison slid in to convert Anthony McNamee's left-wing cross.
