Match Preview
Allen set to stick Martin Allen has no new problems as he looks to keep Notts County in League One with a final-day win over champions Brighton. With just Stephen Hunt and Alan Gow out injured and Ricky Ravenhill suspended, the Magpies manager has options available should he wish to make changes. Allen was pleased with his team's display despite defeat at former club club MK Dons last weekend, and he could name an unchanged starting XI. However, with three goals in his last three games, including two from the bench, Lee Hughes is pushing strongly for a recall. Fellow forwards Kevin Smith and Niogo Demba-Nyren, midfielder John Spicer and defenders John Thompson and Stephen Darby are also alternatives for Allen. Notts need to beat Brighton to guarantee their safety, although a draw, or even defeat, could be enough if results involving Walsall and Dagenham go their way. Glenn Murray will miss out when Brighton bid farewell to League One. The Seagulls' top scorer, who has yet to agree a new contract with the club, is still struggling with a shoulder injury and will not travel. Defender Adam El-Abd is out with a foot injury, striker Fran Sandaza has a hamstring problem and full-back Jim McNulty remains a long-term absentee after ankle surgery. But goalkeeper Casper Ankergren is set to return after losing his ever-present league record last weekend due to a dead leg. Midfielders Radostin Kishishev, Cristian Baz, Agustin Battipiedi and strikers Gary Hart and Chris Holroyd could be involved despite being told they will not be offered new contracts for next season.

Match Report
Magpies hold champions Notts County held champions Brighton to a 1-1 draw at Meadow Lane but survived relegation due to results elsewhere. The Magpies started the day sweating on their place in the division and facing a tough challenge against champions Brighton, but defeats for Dagenham and Walsall meant they were safe whatever the scoreline. An entertaining first half saw the visitors go ahead on 11 minutes through a wonderful curling strike by the lively Ashley Barnes. Chances for both sides followed but it was County who levelled on 36 minutes when dangerman Craig Westcarr`s low cross-shot was deflected into the net by Brighton skipper Gordon Greer. The second period started badly for the Seagulls as the talismanic centre half Tommy Elphick had to be stretchered off following an innocuous-looking collision. Chances dried up but the noise was raised to pandemonium as Dagenham and Walsall continued to leak goals elsewhere and the home fans knew safety was an inevitability and the final whistle was greeted by a mass pitch invasion.
