An horrendous goalkeeping error from Barnet's Lee Harrison saw Notts County claim a deserved point at Underhill.
In a first half of few chances, it was the home side who looked the most threatening. Adam Birchall had the first sighter on goal when well positioned in the box, but he took too long to take his shot and was eventually closed down.Jason Puncheon was next to try his luck and his low drive was initially spilled by Kevin Pilkington in the County goal, though as Birchall closed in, the keeper grabbed the ball at the second attempt.
The visitors failed to get their passing game together and barely registered a shot on target throughout the first half. When Harrison was called into action in the Bees goal, Adam Tann's shot flew straight at him from eight yards out.
However, the first half was to see a moment of magic and it came from Puncheon in the 39th minute when, from Birchall's lay-off, he fired an unstoppable 20-yard strike into the top corner giving Pilkington no chance.
There was though no nothing magical about County's equaliser four minutes into the second half, in fact it was more comical as Richard Butcher's cross was inexcusably fumbled by Harrison to shock the Underhill faithful.
Tann could have put County in front just minutes later though he failed to make contact with Neil MacKenzie's teasing cross.
By now the game had opened up with both sides creating chances. Harrison looked vulnerable whenever the ball was played towards his goalmouth, while Puncheon tested Pilkington with a fiercely struck drive.
The Bees came closest to snatching the points when with just eight minutes left, Puncheon's superb pass dissected the County backline, but Birchall, after being put clean through, couldn't finish past Pilkington.
