Ravenhill provides boost for Allen Manager Martin Allen will have Ricky Ravenhill available for his first home game in charge of Notts County against Bournemouth. Ravenhill served the second game of a two-match suspension as Allen's tenure began with a 2-1 defeat to Yeovil on Tuesday night. Allen could persist with a 4-3-3 formation after being impressed by his side's performance at Huish Park. He has options should he wish to make changes, with defenders Sam Sodje and Carl Regan, midfielders Ravenhill and David Martin and forwards Craig Westcarr and Karl Hawley all available for recalls. However, defenders Krystian Pearce and Graeme Lee and midfielder Alan Judge remain unavailable. Lee will serve the second game of a two-match ban while Pearce (head) and Judge (foot) are injured. Bournemouth could be able to call on Mark Molesley and Ben Williamson. Molesley has been struggling with an ankle injury but played an hour of a behind-closed-doors friendly in midweek, while Williamson had a calf problem and also took part in that game. Both men are in contention for a place in Lee Bradbury's squad as they travel north aiming to get their play-off hopes back on track. Goalkeeper Dan Thomas has been recalled from his loan spell at Dorchester following the sacking of Jon Stewart earlier this week and he will go straight on to the bench. Rhoys Wiggins is still struggling with a thigh problem, while Michael Symes is nursing an abductor injury, and although he has resumed training this week, he is unlikely to make the trip. The Cherries will be looking to get back into the play-off positions after Rochdale's midweek win over Southampton saw Bradbury's men slip out of the top six for the first time since November.

Defeat on Allen's home bow Martin Allen's Meadow Lane debut ended in a club-record ninth defeat as play-off chasing Bournemouth halted their own winless run with a 2-0 victory. The Cherries had not won in seven games going into the clash, and could have seen that run extended as Lee Hughes twice headed over the bar for the Magpies in the opening period. Stephen Purches shot wide for the visitors, while Danny Ings showed a sign of things to come with an effort that Stuart Nelson saved. Bournemouth took the lead on in the 67th minute when Liam Feeney sent over a cross from the right and Anton Robinson sent a thumping header home. Ten minutes later, with County pushing men forward to try and level, Ings doubled the lead and secured the points with a piece of individual skill. After receiving the ball from Harry Arter, he powered his way through a shell-shocked Notts defence and finished past an equally statuesque Nelson. Hughes and Craig Westcarr had great chances to pull a goal back for the hosts, but could not find the target.
