After the match a disgruntled Northern Ireland manager Lawrie Sanchez admitted his side deserved to be booed by the Windsor Park faithful.

The former Wycombe Wanderers manager said: "It's the first time I've heard them do that but it was what we deserved today.

"Really we froze again. Iceland wanted it more in the first half and got a three-goal lead. That was game over.

"It was poor defending and all the goals could have been prevented. Now we have to get the players up for Spain (on Wednesday)."
