Keeper all set for Cobblers
Matt Duke is expected to go straight into the Northampton team to face Macclesfield.
Duke has been brought in on loan from Bradford for the remainder of the season following injuries to Shane Higgs and more recently Chris Weale.
Weale, signed on loan from Leicester in January following Higgs' injury, requires surgery after suffering a knee injury against AFC Wimbledon last week.
Toni Brito Silva is pushing for a starting role after making his debut as a second-half substitute against the Dons just hours after his arrival on loan from Liverpool.
"He is one of those players who is like a snake, you are not getting the ball off him and if you do it is generally because you have fouled him," said Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd.
"I know what he is all about and what he has got in his locker; he can go both ways, he can go off his left and shoot or go onto his right and do something as well. He will win free-kicks and fouls and he will certainly get a lot of goals for us as well."
Ben Futcher is available to make his Macclesfield debut against Northampton.
The 30-year-old centre-back joined on a three-month loan from Bury on Monday and could bolster a Silkmen side looking to avoid an eighth consecutive defeat.
Forward Ben Tomlinson (thigh) and midfielder Sam Wedgebury (hernia) were named among the substitutes by manager Gary Simpson for Saturday's game against Aldershot, despite failing late fitness tests, and could now be in line for a return to the starting XI alongside striker George Donnelly (calf).
Carl Tremarco will serve the first game of a three-match suspension after the full-back was sent off for a lunge on Shots forward Guy Madjo.
Midfield trio Dwayne Mattis (ankle), Ross Draper (broken metatarsal) and Lewis Chalmers (hernia) remain on the sidelines along with defender Paul Morgan (ankle).
Cobblers see off Macc
Northampton secured their second successive victory with a 3-2 triumph over Macclesfield, who slumped to their eighth consecutive defeat.
Jose Veiga twice thwarted Adebayo Akinfenwa early on but Macclesfield took a 17th minute lead when a mix-up in the Cobblers defence saw Marcus Marshall set-up George Donnelly, who finished from close range.
Michael Jacobs put Northampton back on level terms eight minutes later when his deep inswinging corner evaded Veiga and nestled in the far corner.
Donnelly should have restored Macclesfield's advantage in the 33rd minute when he raced clear but was denied by a last-gasp tackle from John Johnson.
Luke Guttridge put Cobblers in front on the stroke of half time, heading home Ben Harding's testing free-kick. Akinfenwa extended Northampton's advantage seven minutes after the restart, controlling Johnson's cross before turning to beat Veiga from 10 yards.
Johnson again came to Northampton's rescue to thwart Donnelly for the second time after he broke into the box.
Ben Tomlinson reduced the arrears five minutes from time, finally capitalising on another defensive error, but Cobblers held on to claim three crucial points.
