Several injury worries for Johnson
Northampton have a handful of players nursing knocks ahead of the visit of Hereford.
Town boss Gary Johnson did not name those in question, although he will still be without striker Adebayo Akinfenwa (fractured jaw) and midfielder Arron Davies (back and hamstring).
"We have got a couple of little knocks but we will have to wait and see if they mean anyone is unavailable for selection," Johnson said.
"It would be nice at some stage to get a couple of results and be able to keep the same team, but at the minute we keep picking up little niggling injuries."
Saido Berahnio went straight into the starting line up at Bradford on Saturday following his arrival on loan from West Brom two days earlier. The striker looks set to keep his place in the side and make his home debut.
Johnson added: "I think Saido Berahino will be a good signing for us. He did okay on Saturday and hopefully the home fans will see on Tuesday night what a good player he is."
Striker Delroy Facey is pushing for a recall as Hereford look for a third consecutive npower League Two victory.
But on-loan forward Nathan Elder scored his first goal for the Bulls in their 1-0 victory over Barnet at the weekend, and will provide Facey strong competition for a starting spot.
Manager Jamie Pitman also has Tom Barkhuizen and Sam Winnall available as attacking options in his preferred 3-4-3 formation.
Young goalkeeper David Cornell deputised for Adam Bartlett (thigh) in the win over the Bees as well as the 2-0 conquest of Bradford, keeping two clean sheets.
Midfielder Joe Colbeck remains unavailable due to a knee injury
Bulls' director of football Gary Peters said: "We have been doing things rather differently over the last few weeks and there have been less mistakes. We have to keep that going but it's not as though we are playing brilliantly yet, and we cannot afford to get carried away."
Resurgent Bulls pile misery on Cobblers
Improving Hereford inflicted more agony on Northampton boss Gary Johnson as they triumphed 3-1 to send the hosts to a fourth straight defeat.
The Bulls extended their own unbeaten run to four games and registered a comfortable third successive victory - their first of the season away from home - thanks to first-half goals from Nathan Elder and Steven Leslie.
Although Saido Berahino reduced the arrears in the second half, Harry Pell made the game safe for the visitors.
Elder opened the scoring in the 13th minute, firing home the rebound after Pell's shot had been saved by Sam Walker.
Leslie doubled Hereford's advantage six minutes later when his 30-yard free-kick took a wicked deflection off the Northampton wall, wrong-footing keeper Walker as it flew into the top corner.
The goals sandwiched a neat effort from Berahino which was tipped around a post by David Cornell, while later in the half Kelvin Langmead headed just over.
But Hereford almost made it three in the 34th minute when Elder headed against the crossbar from Leslie's left-wing cross.
After the restart Stefan Stam went close with a 30-yard strike for the visitors before Berahino halved Northampton`s deficit in the 63rd minute with a close-range effort.
Yet Pell restored Hereford's two-goal cushion soon after, exchanging passes with Tom Barkhuizen before scoring with a diving header from the ensuing cross.
