Match Preview
Cobblers welcome back Davies Northampton midfielder Arron Davies will be available for the visit of Dagenham. Davies has been sidelined by a hamstring injury but he has resumed training and could be included in the squad. "Arron trained on Thursday as normal and he is putting himself up for selection," said Cobblers boss Gary Johnson, who could make a loan signing in time for the game on Saturday. "We need a stronger squad. We have been unlucky with some long-term injuries but I don't want to hide behind that. I am trying to add to the squad but we have got to make sure that the people we bring in are going to improve us. "We have had a couple of players training with us this week but they are not quite fit enough yet for the first team. However, it is good that the lads know I am looking to bring players in as that might just make them realise that they need to do more." Midfielder Nick McKoy will serve the second game of a four-match suspension while Byron Webster (foot) is still out and fellow defender Seth Nana Ofori-Twumasi has had his season ended by a recent knee injury. Dagenham welcome back defender Abu Ogogo from suspension. The full-back missed last weekend's 2-1 home defeat to leaders Morecambe having served a one-match suspension for collecting five bookings this season. He will now battle it out with replacement Richard Rose for a place in the Daggers' backline at Sixfields. Medy Elito (groin), Josh Scott (knee), Rob Edmans (fractured leg), Kevin Maher (metatarsal) and Luke Howell all remain in the treatment room. Ogogo's return aside, it remains to be seen whether manager John Still makes any changes to the starting XI who went down against Morecambe having put in a much-improved performance. However, it was a third defeat in the space of a week and a fourth successive league loss, meaning this is a crucial match in order to get back on track.

Match Report
Daggers` woes continue at Northampton Goals in each half from Arron Davies and top scorer Adebayo Akinfenwa earned Northampton a long overdue first home win of the season with a 2-1 victory over Dagenham. Northampton should have had the game won by half time after Davies game them a 16th-minute lead, firing home after John Johnson saw his header saved by Chris Lewington and Akinfenwa's rebound was blocked on the line. Northampton created further chances to double their advantage. Marlon Jackson fired wide of an open goal after Michael Jacobs had forced an error between Lewington and Abu Ogogo and Johnson headed wide at the far post from a corner by Davies, who was then denied by a fingertip save from Lewington. But Dagenham created three good opportunities at the start of the second half. Jon Nurse fired just wide with a snapshot, Peter Gain flashed an effort across goal and Sam Williams headed over from Ogogo's cross. But their efforts came to nothing as Akinfenwa doubled Cobblers' advantage in the 59th minute, heading home at the far post from Jacobs' pinpoint cross following a poor clearance from Lewington. Dagenham went close when Nurse scraped the bar with a header and Gain forced a tip over from Sam Walker who then denied Williams to keep out his point-blank header. Oliver Lee reduced the arrears in stoppage time from Ogogo's low cross but it came too late to change the outcome.
