Match Preview
Cobblers keen to rediscover winning feeling Northampton have no fresh injury concerns for the visit of Aldershot. Midfielder Nathaniel Wedderburn was back on the bench for the 3-3 draw with Morecambe on Tuesday after an ankle injury and is in contention for a starting role. Fellow midfielder Abdul Osman sits out the second of his three-match ban following his red card at Port Vale last weekend so manager Ian Sampson must decide who will partner Josh Walker in the middle. Kevin Thornton started there on Tuesday and scored but the more defensive Wedderburn is an option as the Cobblers look to return to winning ways after a run of three straight draws. Midfielder Ryan Gilligan is on loan at Torquay while striker Tadhg Purcell is still sidelined with the serious knee injury which ended his season in August. Aldershot manager Dean Holdsworth has a fully-fit squad available for the clash. Midfielder John Halls made his long-awaited return from a groin injury as a late substitute in the midweek draw with Lincoln and will travel to Sixfields. Halls has made just 30 appearances in the last two seasons due to niggling injury concerns but could play his part in the remainder of the season. Venezuelan goalkeeper Mikhael Jaimez-Ruiz will continue on the bench as he starts his second spell with the club after his international clearance came through. Youngster Jack Randall broke his leg while on loan at Didcot Town recently and is out long-term, striker Damian Spencer is still on loan at Eastbourne Borough and defender Anthony Straker is at Wycombe.

Match Report
Vincenti on the mark Peter Vincenti grabbed a late equaliser as Aldershot all but ended Northampton's slim play-off hopes after a 1-1 draw at Sixfields. It was Northampton's fourth consecutive draw and once again they failed to hold on to their advantage, this time given to them by Ben Tozer in the first half. And to make matters worse Cobblers had striker Shaun Harrad sent off and will now face suspension. Northampton took an 18th minute lead against the run of play when Tozer turned the ball home from close range after Aldershot failed to clear an in-swinging corner from Michael Jacobs. Substitute Frances Laurent missed a good opportunity to double Northampton's advantage before Aldershot deservedly drew level in the 78th minute when Vincenti turned the ball home at the far post from Alex Rodman's cross. Four minutes later Harrad received a straight red for kicking out at Anthony Charles but Northampton could have won it in the 85th minute when Josh Walker was denied by keeper Jamie Young. Aldershot almost grabbed a late winner when Rodman fired wide from the edge of the box with two minutes of normal time remaining.
