Tweed to sit it outMontrose player/ manager Steven Tweed has ruled himself out of playing against Queen's Park.Tweed has spent a frustrating week trying to get new faces in and is out with a hamstring injury of his own.Summer signing Terry Masson will be absent for three months because of a knock and the Links Park boss is sweating on the fitness of captain Chris Hegarty.Tweed said: "I am glad the season is starting as we are raring to go."We deliberately had a tough pre-season to improve our fitness levels and then cup games against good higher league teams."Queen's Park captain Richard Sinclair is in line for his first game in six months.Sinclair broke his leg against Stranraer in February but is included in a travelling party that is also missing defenders Darryl Meggat and Paul McGinn, midfielder Giuseppe Capuano and striker Michael Daly through injury.Centre-back Jamie Brough is also suspended but recent signing Jamie Longworth is included for the first time.Head coach Gardner Speirs said: "We have played four full-time teams in the past fortnight so I am hoping that our boys are extremely sharp for the Montrose match."The games at their place last season were tight and competitive and I am expecting the same this time."
McBride is spot on for Queens
An injury-time penalty from Martin McBride snatched Queens Park a 2-1 win at Montrose.
Craig Smith pounced on a Richard Little cross to head the visitors in front after 11 minutes to light up an otherwise uninspiring first half.
After good work from Nicky Smith, Aaron Sinclair's low shot put the home side back on level terms with less than 20 minutes remaining.
But the home side could not hang on, and in stoppage-time, Hugh Davidson's late challenge in the area allowed McBride to slam home a left-footed strike from the spot and take all three points.
