Match Preview
Pope may miss out for Montrose Montrose defenders Jonathan Crawford, Gordon Pope and Alan Campbell are all doubts for their clash with East Stirling. Striker Martin Boyle is also sidelined with a hamstring problem as the Links Park side try to avoid finishing bottom of the league for the second season in a row. Manager Ray Farningham said: "We were on a good run before we went to play an Arbroath side looking to win the title last Saturday, so we do not need to go too far back for confidence. "East Stirling defeated us in one of my first games in charge so it would be good to put that right and get the points that mean we do not end in bottom spot." East Stirling are again without the injured backline of Stuart Beveridge, Craig Tully, Alex Walker and Craig Donaldson. Head coach Jim McInally looks set to give youngster Craig Scott a starting role as he looks to assess his potential. Shire assistant head coach David Nicholls said of the defender: "I have played with Craig in the reserves and he is a great talent. It has been great to see him break into the first-team squad and he has listened well to the advice Jim McInally has given him and is ready for a start." Nicholls added: "Picking up three points in this game would make for a very interesting last day of the season with three teams all going all out to avoid finishing bottom of the Third Division table."

Match Report
Gable Endies back with a bang Montrose bounced back to winning ways with a comprehensive 3-0 win over basement side East Stirling. Hammered 4-1 by champions Arbroath last weekend, the Gable Endies responded with a demolition job inside the first 18 minutes at Links Park. Sean Pierce opened the scoring with a seventh-minute minute header from Ross McCord's inswinging corner. After being fouled by Michael Andrews, Daryl Nichol then dusted himself down to beat Michael Andrews from the penalty spot three minutes later. Pierce doubled his tally for the afternoon when his low drive from 18 yards flew past helpless goalkeeper Michael Andrews, while Hugh Davidson saw his 25-yard drive tipped around the post. The home side pressed for a fourth goal after the break, but found Andrews keen to make amends, twice denying Montrose winger Terry Masson with smart saves.
