Match Preview

Selection Dilemma for Montrose boss Montrose player/manager Steven Tweed has selection worries ahead of the visit of Albion Rovers as he looks for his men to build on an unbeaten October. Tweed has ruled out five players including himself from his starting line-up, with Daryl Nicol suspended and Hugh Davidson, Terry Masson and Jonathan Crawford in the treatment room. However, there is some good news for the Links Park boss with striker Connor Thomson included again after his comeback game last week, and new signing Dougie Cameron in line for his debut in midfield. Tweed said: "We may well be on a good run but we need to turn draws into wins particularly at home. Albion Rovers have a good record against us so we need to play well to win." Albion Rovers boss Paul Martin is looking for his men to consolidate their place in the Third Division`s top four although he may be short of bodies to help him secure the three points. Marc Pollock and Steven Meechan are both out injured while defender Alan Benton and wide man Chris Hamilton will undergo late fitness tests. Player/assistant manager Todd Lumsden is available again after injury to provide defensive cover should Benton not make it. Martin said: "If we are to do anything this season then this is the type of game we have to win, but it will not be easy. "Montrose have an excellent squad and their recent results are backing that up."

Match Report

Rare road win for Rovers Albion Rovers secured only their second away win of the season by beating Montrose 2-0 and moved five points clear of third-placed Berwick in the process. John Gemmell opened the scoring for Rovers in the 32nd minute, firing past Montrose keeper Daniele Giordano from the edge of the box after collecting a pass from Chris Boyle. It was 2-0 five minutes later. Gemmell's initial effort from 12 yards was parried by Giordano, but Robert Love was quickest to react and he fired the rebound into the top corner from close range. Montrose almost pulled a goal back in the 74th minute when Ross McCord's corner was headed against a post by Sean Crighton from six yards.
