League leaders MK Dons escaped Adams Park with a point after holding on for over half-an-hour with nine men.
The game ended 1-1 with Lloyd Dyer and skipper Keith Andrews both seeing red. Wycombe also squandered a penalty after John Sutton saw his shot saved by Willie Gueret.
The home side could have gone ahead on ten minutes when MK Dons keeper misjudged a Tom Williams free-kick.
The Dons had dominated the early stages and looked lively, while the hosts were usually prompted by the Argentine Sergio Torres.
Wycombe eventually took the lead on 37 minutes when Matt Bloomfield latched on to a great flick header from Scott McGleish to calmly slide the ball under Gueret in the Dons goal.
Two minutes into first-half stoppage time and the away side were level. Leon Knight pounced on a poor pass before setting Dyer away down the left.
He halted his run before turning and knocking a great ball across the box for Colin Cameron who controlled under pressure and fired a shot home from six yards.
A crazy couple of minutes by the Dons then gave the initiative to Wanderers. Keith Andrews was adjudged to have handlef the ball on the line resulting in a red card for the skipper and a penalty.
Sutton had his penalty saved by Gueret before Dyer was shown a red for a dangerous tackle on Williams just before the hour.
Wycombe continued to press against the nine-man Dons but the visitors remain top after they were able to survive the onslaught.
