Match Report

Milton Keynes Dons recorded their fifth successive victory with a rampant 4-0 win over Dagenham and Redbridge.

Aaron Wilbraham's double, and Lloyd Dyer's first-half strike gave the Dons a 3-0 lead at half-time with Kevin Gallen completing the display nine minutes from time.

The three points ensured the Dons returned to the top of the League Two summit, above Peterborough on goal difference and still with a game in hand.

The Dons never needed to step out of third gear as they controlled throughout while Dagenham looked well below-par.

It took just three minutes for the Dons to find the back of the net with Dean Lewington and Jemal Johnson exchanging passes before Wilbraham popped up in the box to head in Lewington's cross.

While the Daggers looked around in disbelief, the Dons upped the ante and their hard work paid off as Dyer doubled the lead in the tenth minute.

Johnson worked his magic down the left of the box before squeezing a pass in for Dyer to slot beyond Daggers keeper Tony Roberts.

Jon Nurse's impatience showed shortly after the half-hour mark when he wasted the Daggers' first real effort at goal by blasting a shot into the stands.

Dyer then turned from scorer to provider as he got the better of left-back Scott Griffiths and crossed into the box for an unmarked Wilbraham to once again nod across the line.

An error from Dons keeper Willy Gueret almost provided the Daggers with a route back when he spilt Glen Southam's corner, but luckily for him his defence was able to clear the danger.

Gueret made amends for his error with a superb save from Griffiths long-range effort.

The second half never lived up to the first but the Dons were still able to add to the scoreline with Gallen rounding off a dominant display with a well-taken fourth goal nine minutes from time.

The former QPR striker collected a slick flick-on from Wilbraham, took a touch to beat Mark Arber and drilled his shot into the right corner.
