Match Preview

Dons duo banned MK Dons could hand a debut to midfielder Stephen Hughes against Brentford. The Scot has signed on loan from Norwich and could come into Karl Robinson`s side in place of Peter Leven, who sits out through suspension after he was sent off in the 2-2 draw at Sheffield Wednesday last weekend. Centre-half Gary MacKenzie was also dismissed at Hillsborough and begins a two-match ban as he has already seen red this season. The Dons have a ready-made replacement available as Sean O`Hanlon returns from a ban of his own to start. Striker Sam Baldock is still out with his hamstring injury and on-loan QPR striker Angelo Balanta will be out of action until March with an ankle problem. Brentford striker Charlie MacDonald is doubtful. MacDonald went off with an ankle injury after falling awkwardly during Monday night's Johnstone's Paint Trophy win at Exeter. Caretaker boss Nicky Forster says he will not pick himself while he remains in charge so Nicholas Bignall, Robbie Simpson or Lewis Grabban will start in attack if MacDonald is ruled out. On-loan Norwich midfielder Owain Tudur Jones was cup-tied for the Exeter game and he will be back in the squad, but winger Sam Wood is still recovering from a broken arm. Forster appears to be in pole position to land the full-time manager's job having overseen two wins in two matches since taking over from Andy Scott.

Match Report

Marsh-Brown rescues Dons MK Dons' teenage defender Keanu Marsh-Brown scored his first career goal as the home side survived a late onslaught to draw 1-1 with Brentford. Marsh-Brown, on loan from Fulham, slotted the Dons' opener shortly after the break, but Lewis Grabban levelled for Brentford two minutes later, maintaining Nicky Forster's unbeaten record as Bees caretaker boss. Brentford missed three glorious chances to open the scoring in the first half as they carved a makeshift Dons' defence apart at will. Myles Weston was first denied one-on-one by Dons' goalkeeper David Martin after racing clear before Grabban fired a good chance wide. Sam Saunders then broke the offside trap only to side-foot a dreadful effort six yards wide. The Dons improved after the break and the impressive Marsh-Brown put them ahead three minutes after the restart, slotting in Luke Chadwick's low cross from close range. But Grabban equalised for Brentford two minutes later when he raced clear on to Leon Legge's pass and drilled a low shot inside the far post beyond the fingertips of Martin. The Bees piled forward late on, Marcus Bean lashing a 25-yard strike against the crossbar and Gary Alexander heading the rebound over, while Sean O'Hanlon headed just wide for the Dons in the closing seconds.
