Cheers from the City fans as Zabaleta wins a free-kick for a foul by Arbeloa. A replay shows Zabaleta actually went in with his studs on the Real defender's thigh and could easily have been red carded.

More terrible defending as Nastasic fails to deal with a ball played in from the right - it almost drops for Benzema but Hart collects.

There is the danger the second half here could be a non event - it may depend is Mancini decides there's no point wasting energy ahead of their game with Chelsea.
City have 3v3 and Ronaldo looks able to simply pick a pass - but it's Aguero who runs right back into his own half to make the tackle from behind and win the ball.
And that goal is just about goodnight for City's Champions League season.

That Benzema goal has left City all at sea. It's like a library at Eastlands.

What a simple goal. A superb cross from the right by Di Maria, Maicon fell asleep and left Benzema to trundle up to the ball and tap home from four yards out. Shocking defending.
