The Man City fans are pouring out of the stadium now and will certainly feel aggrieved after looking comfortable at half-time.
Kuyt has surely won the game for Liverpool, who also now have ten men on the pitch as they have used all three of their subs and Skrtel has gone off injured.
MANCHESTER CITY 2 - 3 LIVERPOOL: The ball drops to Torres in the box and his shot is deflected into the path of DIRK KUYT who slots the ball from close range.
After the injury the fourth official indicates six minutes of added time.
Martin Skrtel goes down awkwardly after jumping for a ball and it looks a serious injury - he receives oxygen and is stretchered off the pitch with the ankle thought to be the main concern.

Torres and Robinho, two of the best finishers in football, have both put in their contenders for miss of the season today!
Torres gets a glorious opportunity from close range but he drags his shot wide of the target. Even he can't believe he's missed it, Liverpool probably won't get a better chance than that.
Yossi Benayoun enters the fray in place of Albert Riera
Robinho will be ruing his missed opportunity when the scoreline was 2-1 as he leaves the field for Ched Evans
Riera whips a dangerous cross into the box but his team-mates are not on the same wavelength and City clear their lines.
City are camped back in their own half now and seem to be trying to hold out for a draw, hacking the ball away from danger at every opportunity.
The game has heated up now and it is being played at a fast and furious tempo. It will be interesting to see how the ten men of City cope with Liverpool's new formation.
MANCHESTER CITY 2 - 2 LIVERPOOL: Gerrard puts another fantastic delivery into the box from the corner flag and FERNANDO TORRES nods the ball home from close range
Mascherano has been sloppy today, giving the ball away on numerous occasions, and it is unsurprising that he makes way for Robbie Keane
Rafa Benitez makes a straight swap - Fabio Aurelio for Andrea Dossena
An injury to Jo sees him make way for Gelson Fernandes.
There is a break in play as Jo receives treatment for an injury on the edge of the Liverpool penalty area. Both managers look set to make changes with subs lined up on the touchline.
Mark Hughes is furious on the sideline but when he sees the replay he may hold his hands up and say that the Argentinian deserved to see red. The game is now wide open and Liverpool must surely go all out for the final third of the game.
Pablo Zabaleta goes in two-footed on Xabi Alonso and Peter Walton rushes over and immediately gives the full-back his marching orders.
That was a shocking miss from the Brazilian and that goal could have won this game for City, but the credit has to go to Wright-Phillips whose build-up play was magnificent.
Wright-Phillips turns the Liverpool defence inside out before sliding a wonderful pass through to Robinho who scoops the ball over an empty goal from inside the six-yard box.
Elano lobs a cross into the box but it is way too high for Ireland who is attacking the ball and the ball bounces out for a Liverpool throw-in.

There is a bit more about Liverpool since the break and City are now the ones finding it hard to get out of their own half, but the visitors will have to do more if they are going to break down City's stubborn back-line.
Robbie Keane is undertaking a rigorous warm-up on the touchline and we will undoubtedly see him on the pitch before too long.
Liverpool have a foothold in this half and are spending a lot of time in City's half as Mascherano sends a long distance shot well wide of the target.
Kuyt gets a shot away from outside of the box but he slices it wide of the target with the outside of his boot.
Kuyt runs at goal and goes down after a challenge from a City defender but the referee waves away his appeals for a penalty.
The second-half gets underway and both sides remain unchanged
HALF TIME: Manchester City 2 - 0 Liverpool - The visitors have been poor after looking good in the opening stages and City's convincing performance, perhaps their best 45 minutes of the season so far, has given them a deserved lead.
Liverpool are being overrun in the centre of the park and the way Benitez has set up the side is not working at all, so it would not be surprising if he changes things around at half-time. Maybe we will see Robbie Keane early on in the second-half?
You could not have guessed this scoreline after the opening ten minutes of the game when Liverpool were dominating, but now half-time cannot come quick enough for Benitez's side.
MANCHESTER CITY 2 - 0 LIVERPOOL: City win a free-kick in a dangerous position. Surprisingly, Robinho is nowhere near the ball but JAVIER GARRIDO shows why as he executes a sublime free-kick into the top corner with Reina nowhere near it.
Liverpool are under pressure all over the pitch at the moment and while they are keeping the ball for lengthy spells, they are pinned back in their own half and have not created a decent chance for a while.
Stephen Ireland is certainly stating his claim for a place in the first team as, with Martin Petrov fit again, there is competition for a place in midfield for City.
Liverpool's possession play is very neat and tidy but their final ball lacks conviction as another move breaks down on the edge of the City penalty area.
Torres is being watched very closely by Richard Dunne and Micah Richards and is finding it difficult on his own.
It is clear to see that Liverpool are trying to feed the ball through to Riera at every opportunity, though this ha sled to Kuyt becoming frustrated on the right flank as he is not receiving anything even when in good positions.
Robinho gets behind the Liverpool defence and is onside. He has options in the box but his ball through to Wright-Phillips has just a little too much on it and the move breaks down.
Riera has been Liverpool's most effective player so far and he gets into the box again but his cross is blocked by Zabaleta and goes out for a throw-in.
Wright-Phillips puts an inviting cross into the box from the byline and Reina fumbles it but then smothers the ball at the second attempt with Jo sniffing around.
Liverpool give the ball away cheaply and Robinho lets fly from distance but his shot doesn't trouble Reina.
It could be argued that the goal came slightly against the run of play but Manchester City now look much more the confident side on the pitch.
Elano tries his luck with a shot from distance but he fails to work Reina and the ball sails behind for a goal-kick.
MANCHESTER CITY 1 - 0 LIVERPOOL: Wright-Phillips chases down a lost cause and gets a cross into the box. Robinho fails to control the ball and it falls to STEPHEN IRELAND who smashes home a volley from 12-yards.
Robinho gets a snap shot away from the edge of the box but it is a comfortable save in the end for Reina.
Riera reaches the byline and pulls the ball back for Kuyt in a great position but he scoops his shot over the bar - he should have made it 1-0.
Liverpool break from a City corner and have a four on two situation, but in the end Mascherano fails to make the most of the opportunity and is dispossessed by Shaun Wright-Phillips.
Martin Skrtel gets into a decent position and doesn't have any openings in front of him so lets fly from distance, but it flies straight down the throat of Hart.
Who knows what could happen in this fixture, it involves the team with the best attacking record - Man City with 16 goals - and the best defense - Liverpool with 2 goals conceded.
After not seeing the ball in the opening stages, Manchester City have just had a couple of half chances and Mark Hughes will be much happier now.
Robinho gets an inch of space just outside of the box and hits a powerful shot n the volley, but it is straight at Reina who smothers the ball gratefully.
Zabaleta bursts into the Liverpool penalty area and gets a low shot away but Jose Manuel Reina is equal to it.
Steven Gerrard looks to be playing just behind Fernando Torres and the link up between them has been good so far, but Robbie Keane will be disappointed to have been left out after scoring his first goals for Liverpool in the Champions League midweek.
Riera has started in lively fashion on his old ground and his side are well on top at the moment.
Riera drives a volley at goal from a tight angle and Joe Hart pulls off a fine save to turn the ball around the post for a corner.
Albert Riera gets behind Pablo Zabaleta far too easily and chips a cross towards the far post but it is just too far ahead of Dirk Kuyt and Manchester city regain possession.
Referee Peter Walton gets the game underway
LIVERPOOL : Reina, Arbeloa, Carragher, Skrtel, Aurelio, Mascherano, Kuyt, Gerrard, Alonso, Riera, Torres. SUBS : Cavalieri, Dossena, Agger, Keane, Benayoun, Babel, Leiva Lucas
MAN CITY : Hart, Zabaleta, Dunne, Richards, Garrido, Wright-Phillips, Ireland, Kompany, Elano, Robinho, Jo. SUBS: Schmeichel, Petrov, Fernandes, Hamann, Evans, Ben-Haim, Sturridge
Rafa Benitez adopts a 4-5-1 formation for today's game and so Robbie Keane is dropped to the bench, making way for Javier Mascherano to return in midfield. Elsewhere, Fabio Aurelio starts at full-back ahead of Andrea Dossena who starts on the bench.
Manchester City boss Mark Hughes makes no changes to the side that lost at the JJB Stadium last week, though Martin Petrov returns to the squad and will start the game on the bench.
Manchester City manager Mark Hughes is already beginning to feel the weight of expectation as he prepares to take on Liverpool on Sunday. Another defeat for the big-spending Citizens would be frowned on their new Abu Dhabi rulers, who took over the club last month. Hughes' much-changed side lost to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Carling Cup last week, but Sunday's 2-1 defeat at the hands of Wigan Athletic with all of his big guns back in the starting line-up will have alarmed the City chief. Brazilian duo Jo and Elano were substituted at the JJB Stadium, while compatriot Robinho was subdued as the Eastlands club lost their third game from just six league fixtures this season. Assistant manager Mark Bowen has admitted that the club have already started to look for major recruits for the January transfer window and, after conceding nine goals already, it's highly likely that the majority of their outlay is likely to be on defensive signings. However despite their recent troubles, City remain eighth in the fledgling Premier League table and they remain on course to reach their goal of a second successive season in the UEFA Cup. The 6-0 rout of Portsmouth two weeks ago highlights the type of champagne football they can produce and a similarly fluent attacking display is likely to be needed when the Reds arrive at Eastlands on Sunday. Rafael Benitez's side are currently full of confidence following last weekend's 2-0 Merseyside derby success over Everton. The Anfield club are currently level on points with leaders Chelsea after an unbeaten start to the new season which has included a victory over bitter rivals and reigning champions Manchester United. Fernando Torres proved he has overcome his recent hamstring trouble after scoring both goals against the Toffees, while strike partner Robbie Keane boosted his confidence by opening his account for the Reds after finding the net in Wednesday's 3-1 Champions League win over PSV Eindhoven. The former Spurs striker had gone ten games without a goal following his £20million arrival during the summer. Benitez will have a fully-fit squad to select from for the third straight game with his substitute's bench suddenly looking strong and bursting at the seams with game-changing options.

Visitors Liverpool staged a stunning second-half comeback at Manchester City to snatch victory and preserve their unbeaten start to the Premier League season. City, who had failed to beat Liverpool in their six previous League games in which they had also failed to score a goal, had looked set to end that dismal sequence after establishing a two-goal first-half lead. Stephen Ireland and Javier Garrido, both with spectacular strikes, had put City in a commanding position as they scored Eastlands club's first goals against Liverpool in over nine hours. But in a dramatic second half Liverpool struck twice through Fernando Torres, before an injury-time winner from Dirk Kuyt secured all three points. Albert Riera and Kuyt had early chances for Liverpool as the visitors made the brighter start. But it was City who stole ahead in the 19th minute when Ireland scored his third goal of the season. Jo, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Robinho were involved in the build-up, which ended with Ireland smashing the ball into the roof of the net from ten yards. Liverpool were stunned again in the 42nd minute when City doubled their lead through a spectacular 25-yard free-kick from Garrido, the Spanish left-back's first goal for City. The kick had been awarded for a foul by Fabio Aurelio on Wright-Phillips. Liverpool made an energetic start to the second half and were rewarded when Torres halved the deficit in the 55th minute. Aurelio provided a low cross from the right and Torres stole ahead of Pablo Zabaleta to scramble the ball home from inside the six-yard box for Liverpool's 1,000th goal in the Premier League. City ought to have restored a two-goal advantage midway through the second period when Robinho amazingly blazed over from four yards when it looked a certain goal. Moments later the game took another dramatic twist when Zabaleta was sent off for a dangerous challenge on Xabi Alonso. Liverpool quickly seized on their numerical advantage when Torres beat keeper Joe Hart to head home a corner from Steven Gerrard. Torres ought to have completed his hat-trick in the 82nd minute, but he skied a shot over the crossbar from a couple of yards, a horrendous miss by his high standards in front of goal. Liverpool, who had used all three substitutes, were reduced to ten men when defender Martin Skirtel was taken off on a stretcher after sustaining a serious injury to his right knee. But Liverpool kept their composure to score the winning goal in the third minute of stoppage time when substitute Yossi Benayoun and Torres set up Kuyt, who shot high into the roof of the net from close range to complete their comeback.
