Macc look to secure League Two status
Paul Holland is expected to miss Macclesfield`s home clash against Southend on Easter Monday.
The midfielder was forced off after just 15 minutes of Saturday`s precious 1-0 victory at Cheltenham having dislocated a bone in his shoulder after falling heavily under a challenge.
Silkmen boss Gary Simpson rested defender Izak Reid and midfielders Hamza Bencherif, Sam Wedgbury and Lewis Chalmers to the bench at Whaddon Road and all four are firmly in contention to return against the Shrimpers.
Simpson said: "I made three or four changes with Monday in mind because we have two games coming up back-to-back, Southend come to the Moss Rose having picked up of late and with a day's extra rest."
Silkmen skipper Paul Morgan is out for the season with a broken arm.
Macclesfield go into Monday`s encounter knowing their League Two status will be assured if they better second-bottom Barnet`s result at home to Oxford.
Southend boss Paul Sturrock looks set to name an unchanged side for the third game in a row.
The Shrimpers have claimed consecutive wins against Bradford and Stevenage to climb into the safety of mid-table.
Defender Sean Clohessy was the subject of an X-rated challenge from Stevenage's Peter Winn, who was sent off, but he was fit to continue and should start again.
Striker Barry Corr will be in confident mood after bagging the winner in that game to take his tally for the season to 20.
Sturrock introduced Bilel Mohsni and Lee Sawyer from the bench last time out as they marked their returns from a broken nose and ankle ligament damage respectively.
The Essex club will be looking for just their seventh away win of an inconsistent campaign.
Battling Silkmen almost safe
Macclesfield moved a point closer to safety with a gutsy defensive display to hold Southend to a goalless draw.
The point leaves the Silkmen needing just a point to be certain of avoiding the drop as they are six points ahead of second-bottom Barnet with two games remaining.
Macclesfield nearly grabbed all three points when hard-working striker Tyrone Barnett clipped the top of the crossbar in the 81st minute with a powerful drive from the edge of the box.
However, it was their goalkeeper Jose Veiga who had the busier afternoon. In the 36th minute he stopped a Ryan Hall free-kick at the second attempt and four minutes later he tipped a fizzing drive from Lee Sawyer over the bar.
Macclesfield also had their chances, with Colin Daniel firing wide after only two minutes and Hamza Bencherif nearly grabbing his 12th for the season from midfield with a powerful half-volley that slipped past the far post.
Veiga was also at his best in the second half, clawing wide a shot from a narrow angle by Barry Corr before blocking a 10-yard bullet from Hall.
