Silkmen still without duo
Macclesfield boss Gary Simpson is still without Ricky Sappleton and Paul Morgan for the home clash with npower League Two rivals Shrewsbury.
Striker Sappleton remains sidelined with a knee problem and defender Morgan will be forced to wait three weeks before his wrist is strong enough to return to action.
However, midfielder Hamza Bencherif came through 90 minutes against Leicester in midweek with no problems and Ross Draper was on the bench and is back in full training after injury.
Midfielder John Rooney has joined Major League Soccer outfit Seattle Sounders on trial.
The 19-year-old, who trained with Huddersfield during the summer with a view to a move that never materialised, will spend one week with the American club.
Shrewsbury boss Graham Turner will name an unchanged side for the trip.
Turner watched Shrews stage a miraculous recovery to come from 3-0 down to beat League One promotion hopefuls Charlton 4-3 over 90 minutes in Tuesday`s Carling Cup first-round tie.
And he understandably feels the same XI should get the chance to prove their worth at Moss Rose as Shrews look to make it three successive wins following their opening-day triumph over Bradford.
Turner said: "The side virtually picks itself. There's just one decision I need to make on a substitute."
Midfielder Kevin McIntyre serves the second game of his three-match ban for the red card he received against the Bantams last weekend, while striker Kris Bright is still a little short of fitness.
Shrews win again
Shrewsbury maintained their 100% start to the season with a professional 1-0 win at lacklustre Macclesfield.
The visitors took the lead in the third minute and then suffocated Macclesfield with some tight defending.
Left-back Matt Sadler set up the goal with a charging run to the byline before pulling the ball back for Matt Harold to slot home from eight yards off the near post.
Macc battled hard for an equaliser with Tyrone Barnett heading wide at the far post in the 17th minute, Paul Bolland clipping a drive over the bar in the 25th minute and Vinny Mukendi heading wide on the stroke of half-time.
Shrewsbury were more adventurous after the break and were desperately unlucky not to extend their lead in the 75th minute when sub Ben Van Den Broek saw a shot cannon off the underside of the crossbar.
Macc nearly grabbed an undeserved equaliser in injury-time when Hamza Ben Cherif took the ball past sub keeper Chris Neill only to see Daniel O'Donnell clear the ball off the line.
"Will David Moyes be able to turn it around at Ma..."
