Match Preview
Hamshaw boost for Macc Macclesfield boss Gary Simpson has been boosted after midfielder Matt Hamshaw was passed fit for the home clash with Hereford. Hamshaw has been nursing a badly swollen ankle and was an unused substitute during last weekend`s 4-2 win at Gillingham. He is now fully fit again but Simpson remains without a trio of other players. Striker Vinny Mukendi succumbed to an ankle injury while playing for Congo Under-19s in the Reze International Football Tournament over the Easter Weekend and will not play again this season. Midfielder Paul Bolland also remains sidelined after undergoing surgery on his shoulder, which will rule him out of action for between six to eight weeks. Silkmen skipper Paul Morgan is still out of action with a broken arm. Ryan Valentine could return for Hereford`s trip to Macclesfield. The defender has not played since sustaining a hip injury in November but is now fit and available with just one match of the campaign remaining. With Hereford having sealed their League Two survival with last weekend`s 1-1 draw against Bradford, manager Jamie Pitman may be tempted to include him at the Moss Rose. Valentine's comeback just leaves Dan Connor on the sidelines, with the goalkeeper having failed to make one appearance all season due to his hip injury. Striker Sean Canham was an unused substitute last weekend having been recalled from his loan spell at Kidderminster and could also be involved in some capacity against the Silkmen.

Match Report
Chalmers earns Silkmen a point Lewis Chalmers' second-half penalty earned Macclesfield a deserved 1-1 draw in a thrilling final-day clash with Hereford. After just six minutes, Stuart Fleetwood conjured up the first chance as his 20-yard lob hit the crossbar. Nine minutes later, Silkmen goalkeeper Jose Veiga dropped a Joe Colbeck cross at the feet of Ryan Green who smashed a close-range drive against the bar. Green did not have long to wait and was first to react when Veiga dropped a Waide Fairhurst free-kick to fire home from close range in the 21st minute. The game changed on 54 minutes when Hereford skipper Michael Townsend clipped the heels of Matty Hamshaw in the box to earn a red card, allowing Chalmers scored from the spot. Macclesfield then took the game by the scruff of the neck with Hereford keeper Adam Bartlett brilliantly tipping wide a Hamshaw drive before blocking a 15-yard bullet from Tyrone Barnett.
