Simpson buoyed by Gray extension Macclesfield boss Gary Simpson has been boosted for the home clash with Bury after Dan Gray extended his loan from Chesterfield until the end of the season. Goalkeeper Jack Cudworth is expected to be fit after missing last week's 4-1 defeat at Southend with a back strain but Carl Tremarco and Shaun Brisley remain sidelined with hip injuries. Earlier this month the Silkmen signed left-sided French defender Tony Diagne on a contract until the end of the season and Simpson is happy with his club's business. He said: "I was extremely pleased to get Dan Gray to extend his loan deal and I'm confident that Tony Diagne will be a useful addition at the back given the number of games we are now looking at over the coming months." Bury boss Alan Knill has no injury or suspension concerns. The Shakers beat Shrewsbury 1-0 at home on Friday to claim their first victory in seven matches and reignite their promotion challenge. Knill was handed a major boost in the 77th minute when striker Andy Bishop stepped off the bench to make his first appearance since September following a bout of tendonitis. Damien Mozika and Cameron Belford missed training last week due to injuries, but were passed fit to face the Shrews and their continued availability leaves Knill with a full-strength squad.

Foursome Shakers on the up Clinical Bury moved into fourth spot in League Two despite conceding two goals in 60 seconds in a pulsating first half as they beat Macclesfield 4-2. The Shakers raced into a three-goal lead with Michael Jones finding the far corner with a powerful low drive in the seventh minute. Star striker Ryan Lowe then saw a 15-yard shot deflect past Jose Veiga in the 33rd minute and Veiga then left himself stranded as Nicky Ajose raced past him outside the box to slot into the empty net. But the hosts, who have now taken only two points in the last eight games, bounced back with two goals in 60 seconds. Ross Draper sliced through the defence to find the far corner on 38 minutes before Tyrone Barnett headed home his seventh of the season from eight yards out. After the break ex-Mac man Efe Sodje cleared a Ricky Sappleton shot off the line before Lowe sealed the result with a superb half volley into the top corner for his 17th of the campaign.
