Simpson without injured duo once again Macclesfield boss Gary Simpson is set to again be without Paul Bolland and Paul Morgan as his side prepare to host Accrington. Midfielder Bolland is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury and skipper Morgan is out for the season with a broken arm. Bolland is close to a return but may not be fit to face John Coleman's side as the Silkmen bid to bounce back from Tuesday's 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Bradford. Midfielder Matt Hamshaw is doubtful due to a muscle strain and substitute goalkeeper Jack Cudworth may also be ruled out after he picked a knock in a reserve match. The midweek loss against the Bantams was Macclesfield's fourth straight loss and they lie eight points above the drop zone. A Sean McConville hat-trick condemned the Silkmen to 3-0 defeat when they travelled to the Crown Ground in August. Accrington manager John Coleman has a full squad to choose from as his side look to continue their rich vein of form. Stanley are sitting pretty in the npower League Two play-off places and are unbeaten in the past seven matches, scoring 17 goals in the process. A convincing run of consecutive home wins against Hereford, Northampton and Southend within the past fortnight have brought Accrington to within three points of the automatic promotion places, although Coleman is remaining coy on the prospect of snatching a coveted top-three spot. "We're just looking at each game as they come along," he told Press Association Sport. "You can't look at the big picture until you get the smaller pictures out of the way. "The play-offs were always our target and that's what we're looking towards right now."

Mukendi earns Silkmen vital point Vinny Mukendi earned Macclesfield a precious point in their battle against relegation following a dramatic 2-2 draw with Accrington. Reduced to 10 men on 80 minutes, after the sending off of Carl Tremarco, Macclesfield looked destined for their fifth successive defeat. But Mukendi maintained his composure to hit home his third goal of the season from six yards in injury time. Town took the lead in the 22nd minute when striker Tyrone Barnett flicked on a Lewis Chalmers long throw for Hamza Bensherif to lift the ball over the keeper from close range for his 11th goal of the season. On 38 minutes, Stanley thought they had equalised but Sean McConville's 10-yard volley was ruled out for offside. Stanley went through the gears after the break with skipper Andy Proctor grabbing the equaliser on 72 minutes with a stunning 25-yard drive. Five minutes later they looked to have maintained their push for promotion when Terry Gornell thumped home a spot kick after he had been clipped by Tremarco inches inside the box before Mukendi struck to earn a point.
