Match Preview

Towering injury list for Macc men Macclesfield are set to be without full-back Tony Diagne and midfielder Lewis Chalmers for the npower League Two clash with promotion-chasing Shrewsbury. The duo suffered groin injuries in last week's 2-0 defeat at Gillingham and add to a towering injury list for boss Brian Horton. Defensive duo Paul Morgan (ankle) and Elliott Hewitt (hip) are out for the season along with midfielder Dwayne Mattis (ankle). George Donnelly is absent in attack and faces a further fortnight on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, while fellow forward Ben Tomlinson (ankle/illness) will be assessed ahead of the game. Horton is also sweating on the fitness of full-back Carl Tremarco (hamstring) and midfielder Sam Wedgbury (illness). Macclesfield are without a win since their 2-1 victory over Port Vale on New Year's Eve and are second-bottom of the Football League, three points from safety. Shrewsbury will be without Dave McAllister. The on-loan midfielder saw red in last Saturday's 1-1 draw against Aldershot and, with Shrews having seen their subsequent appeal rejected by the Football Association, will now serve a three-match suspension. But with McAllister only due to have three more games with Town before his maximum three-month stay expires, he has returned to parent club Sheffield United. Manager Graham Turner has options available to him - with Sean McAllister competing for a start while makeshift full-back Matt Richards could be pushed back into his more natural midfield position and Joe Jacobson recalled into defence. Winger Jon Taylor serves the second game of his three-match suspension, which only started against the Shots after the club's encounter against Port Vale - initially the first game of his ban - was abandoned and therefore void. Turner is not expected to have any injury problems for the clash, kick-off 7.45pm, but could find a place in his XI for Marvin Morgan after the striker stepped off the bench to salvage a point last weekend.
