Match Report

Wycombe, the League Two leaders who lost English football's final unbeaten record last week, were frustrated again as rock-bottom Luton Town claimed a point from their trip to Adams Park.

While the hosts looked more likely to pinch the points for most parts, the doomed Hatters still had opportunities to spring a major surprise.

Although the game finished goalless, things were certainly spruced up by the inclement conditions underfoot, with mistakes aplenty on both sides.

Town strikers Chris Martin and Wayne Andrews combined just before the quarter hour, resulting in the latter firing over.

Two minutes later home hit-man Gary Holt chipped into the arms of the excellent Conrad Logan.

Seventeen-year-old Matt Phillips spun brilliantly on the edge of the Hatters box before forcing Logan into much more strenuous action.

Logan, undoubtedly the busier of the two keepers, was forced into action again right on the half-hour mark, keeping out both Simon Church and Matt Harrold from close range.

Luton responded through Andrews six minutes before the break, but his dipping long-range shot flew just past the upright with Scott Shearer stranded.

The visitors also began the second half brightly, with former QPR veteran Kevin Gallen forcing Shearer into a wonderful acrobatic save with a close-range 54th-minute header.

As the game edged nearer to the 90-minute mark, Wycombe gained more and more possession without really threatening Luton's goal.

Their best chance of the second period came with just five minutes left, but it seemed fitting that Logan was on hand to thwart sub Magno Vieira from range and then Phillips with the follow up.
