Match Preview
All eyes will be on Anfield on Sunday as Liverpool take on West Bromwich Albion in search of their first Premier League three-point haul of the fledgling season.
New manager Roy Hodgson could hardly of wished for a tougher start to his Reds career and, with just one point from a possible six to their name so far, the Merseysiders already trail leaders Chelsea by five points.
David N'Gog's strike in their opener against Arsenal looked to have sealed a welcome three points, but Pepe Reina's ugly own goal at the death snatched the win away from them and worse was to follow on Monday evening at Manchester City.
The big-spending Citizens landed a comfortable 3-0 triumph at their Eastlands home and, of concern to Liverpool's fans, Fernando Torres looked a shadow of his usual self and Steven Gerrard failed to make a telling impact when it mattered.
But with newly promoted West Brom up next, a win is certainly achievable on home soil.
The Baggies crashed 6-0 at Chelsea on the opening day, but debutant Peter Odemwingie scored the winner as they beat Sunderland 1-0 at The Hawthorns last time out to renew optimism in the Midlands.
Former Reds goalkeeper Scott Carson must be at his best to keep Liverpool at bay and he will need to be suitably aided by defenders Gonzalo Jara, Gabriel Tamas, Jonas Olsson and Marek Cech.
On the injury front, Liverpool have slight concerns over Maxi Rodriguez (virus), Gerrard (back) and Daniel Agger (concussion) but they are expected to win their fitness battles.
Joe Cole, who was sent off on his Premier League debut against Arsenal, is suspended.
Jerome Thomas (ankle) could miss out for the Baggies while Joe Mattock (ankle) and Ishmael Miller (thigh) will not make a return until next month.
The last time the two sides met in the Premier League at Anfield was in November 2008 and a fine performance from former Liverpool striker Robbie Keane set them on their way to a 3-0 victory.
Keane's brace - and his first goals for his new club - came in the 34th and 43rd minutes, much to the delight of the Kop faithful.
