Match Preview
The pressure is off Bolton Wanderers as they prepare to take on in-form Liverpool in Saturday's early kick-off.
The Trotters lifted the gloom that had engulfed the club with last weekend's 1-0 victory over Hull City as the rare three-point haul moved them from the relegation zone up to the dizzy heights of 11th place in the table.
Matty Taylor scored the vital goal to ease the pressure on Gary Megson, but the under-fire boss had goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen to thank for preserving the lead with a string of top-drawer saves.
The Finn was expected to end his 11-year association with the club last summer after failing to agree a new contract, but Megson will be glad he struck an agreement with the impressive shot-stopper after his match-winning display at the KC Stadium.
Saturday's win - only the fourth of the season - gave Wanderers some more breathing space at the foot of the table following their victory against Manchester City.
The injury problems which hampered Megson at the beginning of the season have improved and, for second week running, he has a clean bill of health.
Captain Kevin Nolan is also available again after serving a suspension last weekend for accumulating five yellow cards.
Liverpool maintained pace with Chelsea at the top of the table with a comfortable 3-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion last weekend.
Robbie Keane's brace were his first league goals for the Reds, while Alvaro Arbeloa's late third set the seal on another impressive victory for Rafael Benitez's side.
The Anfield victory last Saturday evening also provided the perfect response to the critics who claimed the previous weekend's 2-1 defeat to Spurs suggested they were not yet capable of mounting a serious title challenge.
Benitez will welcome back Steven Gerrard and Keane to the fold after resting the pair for the midweek Carling Cup meeting with Tottenham.
Fernando Torres is also in line to make his first Premier League start in six weeks following his recovery from a hamstring injury.

Match Report
Before the game Bolton manager Gary Megson spoke in high regard about Liverpool's title credentials and the former West Brom boss had his point endorsed at the Reebok Stadium by goals in either half from Dirk Kuyt and Steven Gerrard.
Liverpool deserved the win, although Bolton did give them the odd scare in the second half when they upped the ante.
Dutchman Kuyt opened the scoring on 28 minutes, with his head, after he had connected to Fabio Aurelio's pin-point left-wing delivery.
That could have been the striker's second because he had hit the bar from 14 yards out just seven minutes earlier.
But one man who should definitely have made it two was Robbie Keane, who failed to connect with the ball from just one yard out soon after the goal.
Despite winning their last two games against Manchester City and Hull City, Wanderers have been struggling to score goals this season.
They had only scored 11 goals in 12 matches before this one, and six of those came in two wins over Stoke and West Ham.
Defender Gary Cahill then had a header ruled out on the stroke of half-time because captain Kevin Nolan was impeding Jose Reina.
Wanderers came out for the second half with much more purpose, as substitute Ricardo Gardner, Nolan and Kevin Davies all went close.
Davies actually played Gardner, on for Fabrice Muamba, through, but the Jamaican winger slipped after pushing the ball slightly too wide in his attempts to round Reina.
Reds defender Daniel Agger then collided with the post, and appeared to lose a tooth.
Gerrard then should have doubled the visitors lead when he made a bad contact with sub Fernando Torres' cross after sliding in at the far post.
But with 17 minutes left on the clock the skipper, and England midfielder, did make the game safe when he glanced home, with his head, the Spaniard's exquisite ball with the outside of his right boot.
