After the win Scotland manager Walter Smith said: "It was a big performance from us - we put a lot of effort into the game.

"You could see how tired the players were and the pitch was very heavy. But we are absolutely delighted with the result.

"Kenny (Miller) has always played in that manner for Scotland and has produced some fantastic displays recently."
