Match Preview
Defensive puzzle for Slade Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade will be forced into at least one change for the visit of leaders Charlton. Defender Tony Craig has been recalled from his loan spell by Millwall so utility man Leon McSweeney, who missed the 3-0 defeat by MK Dons on Boxing Day through suspension, is likely to step in at left-back. On-loan Tottenham goalkeeper David Button, who has been out for almost four months with a shoulder injury, was on the bench against the Dons and is now pushing Lee Butcher for his place. Regular number one Jamie Jones is also close to returning from his shoulder problem but will not be risked just yet. Midfielder Dean Cox is still out with a knee injury. Addicks skipper Johnnie Jackson could return from injury at Brisbane Road. The left-sided midfielder has been out since mid-November with a hamstring problem but is back in training and has been pencilled in for a comeback either against the Os or Brentford on January 2. Winger Danny Green will be missing from the opposite flank through suspension after he was booked for the fifth time this season against Yeovil on Boxing Day. Scott Wagstaff would be his natural replacement, but needs a late check on the foot injury which sidelined him at Huish Park. Dale Stephens is still out with an ankle problem but fellow midfielder Bradley Pritchard could return to the bench after he missed out on Monday.

Match Report
Orient Spring a surprise Matt Spring scored the only goal of the game against his former employers as Leyton Orient inflicted only a second defeat of the season on League One leaders Charlton at Brisbane Road. Midfielder Spring shrugged off two tackles midway through the first half before striking a 20-yard effort - which appeared to take a deflection off Matt Taylor - over the head of replacement goalkeeper John Sullivan. Sullivan had been on the pitch since the game's defining moment in the sixth minute when first-choice stopper Ben Hamer was sent off having raced out of his area and handled a David Mooney lob as the striker raced on to a pass from Lee Cook. Referee Dean Whitestone had no hesitation in dismissing Hamer, with Scott Wagstaff the unfortunate player to be sacrificed for Sullivan's introduction. The O's might have doubled their lead on the stroke of half-time but Jimmy Smith's header was contentiously ruled out for offside. Mooney had three good chances to extend the home side's advantage in the second half before he was substituted, but it was the visitors who finished the stronger of the two sides with Orient `keeper Lee Butcher punching clear from Yann Kermorgant. Centre-back Ben Chorley then protected his side's slender lead when he cleared a shot off the line from Rhoys Wiggins with seven minutes remaining, ending a nine-match unbeaten run for Chris Powell's side.
