Woking put their promotion hopes back on track, but only after a hard fought win over relegated Leigh.

Three defeats had left Woking's play-off hopes battered and bruised, but they are back in touch with their first win in six games.

But it was not without a struggle as much-improved Leigh battled hard and only two goals in as many minutes late in the game settled the issue.

Woking had territorial advantage but created little in the way of clear-cut opportunities until the 33rd minute when Karl Murray's cross found Raphael Nade unmarked and he neatly brought the ball down before blasting home.

Leigh should have equalised five minutes later but Ryan Clarke miscued his chance with just the keeper to beat.

Twice Neil Gibson could have scored but on both occasions he fired tamely at the keeper, while in the dying minutes Lee Mulvaney shot wide when put in the clear.

Woking were lifted by the introduction of Justin Richards on the hour and the classy striker had a hand in the two further goals.

In the 78th minute he popped the ball over the advancing keeper and Nade beat Craig Smith in a race to the line and slotted it home.

Two minutes later and Richards produced the finishing touch when a long ball caught out Leigh's defence and he hammered the ball past the stranded keeper.
