We fed off tension - Clark
Lee Clark admitted his Birmingham team fed off the tension around the King Power Stadium after denying Leicester a much-needed victory which would have lifted them into the npower Championship play-off places.
A win would have seen the Foxes edge into the top six ahead of the weekend fixtures, and it looked like Nigel Pearson's side were going to end their eight-game winless run after Jeff Schlupp had headed them back in front.
But substitute Chris Burke, back after a three-game absence with an ankle injury, kept his cool to net a last-minute penalty to snatch a point for the visitors from a 2-2 draw.
Curtis Davies' own goal saw Leicester take an early lead but Nikola Zigic equalised just after the hour mark.
"We knew there would be a bit of tension around the place because Leicester and Nigel will be thinking they have to win because it (the race for the play-offs) is so tight," said Clark.
"This is a big club and there is a certain expectation level here and we knew we had to use that in our favour as part of our armoury.
"We spoke about it pre-match - making sure we use that bit of tension around the place to our benefit.
"But that aside, I felt we deserved the late goal. It would have been a travesty really if we had come away from here with nothing."
The result leaves Leicester in seventh place with only one win from their last 13 league matches.
But the Foxes' fate is certainly in their own hands as regards finishing in the play-off places.
Pearson's side face eighth-place Bolton on Tuesday night and then Crystal Palace, Watford and Nottingham Forest - who are currently fourth, third and fifth in the table respectively.
Pearson said: "We probably have to win all four of our remaining matches now. It's do-able.
"We've got to win the next game, but then we've been saying that for a while now.
"We've created enough chances to win this game comfortably and really we should have won the game.
"After Brighton at the weekend, that's two games running now that we've conceded equalising goals late in the game and had to settle for a draw.
"It's difficult to swallow. The mistakes that we are making at the moment are costing us dearly."
