The ref has blown his whistle and the match has started.
Super-sub Shabazz Baidoo rescued a point for brave QPR after they twice came back in a breathtaking finish against promotion favourites Leeds United. The visitors dominated huge chunks of this match with their classy play, but were undone ad the end through the grit and determination of Gary Waddock's side. The home side were quickly into their stride and could have take the lead as early as the fourth minute when Polish striker Adam Czerkas pounced on a mistake by Matthew Kilgallon to race clear, but rushed his chance and pushed the ball just wide. Just two minutes later it was skipper Gareth Ainsworth's turn as he picked up a loose ball and sped clear of the Leeds defence, but he could only produce a weak effort easily saved by Tony Warner. Leeds rallied after the early scares and started to take control of the game through the midfield. Steve Stone will still be wondering how Paul Jones managed to brilliantly save two point-blank shots on the half hour as Rangers failed to clear their lines. Jones was the hero again just five minutes before the break when he got down well to palm Eddie Lewis' well struck free-kick away and keep his side level at half time. Leeds remained in control after the break and, despite a couple of brave counter attacks from the home side, duly took the lead on 65 minutes through Lewis. Geoff Horsfield set up the American international to volley home after David Healy headed Stone's cross onto the bar and QPR failed to clear the ball. QPR fought back and Martin Rowlands hit a perfect penalty to beat Warner, only for Horsfield to smash home Stone's excellent cross soon after with a powerful volley from close range. The home side refused to be beaten and got a deserved equaliser through second-half substitute Badoo who earned his side a well-deserved point.
