Match Preview

Bromby to miss finale Leeds will be without defender Leigh Bromby for their final game of the npower Championship season against Leicester. Bromby ruptured his patella tendon during last weekend's draw at Cardiff and could be sidelined for up to a year. But midfielder Michael Brown returns to contention following a three-game ban and defender Tom Lees will play despite requiring surgery to repair his broken nose. Lees could switch back to central defence alongside Alex Bruce, with Paul Connolly recalled to start at right-back. Striker Billy Paynter is unlikely to feature after missing the Bluebirds game with an Achilles problem, so Ross McCormack, Luciano Becchio, Mikael Forssell and Ramon Nunez will be vying for one of two starting places up front. Zac Thompson is hoping to retain his place in midfield and fellow teenager Charlie Taylor will be hoping to feature as Leeds look to avoid a new club record of 11 home league defeats in a single season. Captain Richie Wellens and fellow midfielder Andy King are likely to miss out for Leicester. Wellens limped off after 22 minutes of the 2-1 home defeat to West Ham with a knee injury and King failed to re-emerge for the second half. Wellens left the King Power Stadium on Monday night on crutches while City boss Nigel Pearson fears that King may have suffered a recurrence of a foot injury. Centre-half Sol Bamba is likely to deputise in midfield with Sean St. Ledger partnering Wes Morgan at the heart of the back four. Martyn Waghorn made his long-awaited comeback as a second-half substitute against the Hammers after being sidelined since suffering a hamstring problem during a loan spell at Hull in October. He is likely to be involved again, as is fellow striker Darius Vassell who has also been missing since October due to a knee injury. Forward Paul Gallagher is likely to remain on compassionate leave.
